It makes sense why they could give you a higher grade than a 1 for the cards that have great centering or good corners for example. If i recall correctly they grade a card based on 4 aspects, Corners, Centering, Surface, Edges. So if your surface is a 1, but the other aspects are higher, then the average could be higher than a 2. And the final grade can fluctuate within a small range around the lowest scoring aspect. As in, if your surface is a 1, then your grade will never be higher than lets say a 3, even if the other aspects are 10's.

Hey man just depending on what type of cameras you are using but i remember getting a really nice one back in the day and every time i used it, it seemed grainy. later found out it was because the iso settings were off. If you change your iso up or down it might help with that. Just worth a shot.

When someone says "fake cards", it sounds like the vendor said it, but I could wrong. I do agree with you that the way the seller behaved sort of off in his response because that's not a cheap box. Personally, if I had bought it and got it verified with this vendor, I would've done everything I could to preserve it so I can either record the opening and verify the box against the purchase or to return the box as-is. I understand you don't want fake boxes in the market, but if you have a $40k purchase, that's not a loss I'd be willing to take tbh. The other theory is maybe this guy bought it for cheap online somewhere and he was ok taking a loss on it because it didn't cost him much. I'm leaning towards this seller being the resealer based on how he acted

TCGplayer needs to clean up its listings. No loose packs in sealed booster box listings, also they need to make separate listings for different language product, it’s different and prices are different. Easy fix, they need to have “standard” envelope like eBay as well. (eBay owns them)

Almost $2 shipping for a single card was definitely a shock to me not having been on tcgplayer for a few months. Never buying off there again until they figure something out. I picked about 60-something cards to shove into the cart and I did the ole package saver or whatever it's called. Cards $28.86 Shipping $48.16.

Great video breakdown, but I want to fill in some missing information. This is our booth. The individual approached us and asked us to buy the box. They asked for $25k as a starting price. I asked to see it for inspection and discovered numerous flaws that made it inauthentic. The seller wanted to take it home, but I convinced them to open it immediately-a lot of people were watching and recording at this point. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they had malicious intent, why would this person bring a box of this caliber to a company specializing in this product, which has a higher chance of identifying it as inauthentic? Anyone would be nervous in this situation. I'm convinced the person knew there was a possibility it could have been fake.

If someone is being like that either don't purchase from them or just walk away with the prices for the cards you are looking at in your head and look at them away from the table. I think it can be shady but I can also see it being annoying if the table is really busy and you are blocking people from taking a look.

ive been to card shops that price dmg cards at NM and its annoying when they tell "thats market." and when taking trade will look at dmg prices and go 70% of that 😧

Before phones it was beckett and skrye magazines lol. Sorry but people have been checking prices since the 90s. I do agree though that vendors need to price their stuff.
