4 rails, one horn, it's not always 1 horn. It just sounds like one horn i'm on. And since it takes about a mile for them to stop that's not a good way to behave

At Needles, California Station, the Amtrack stops for 5 minutes, nobody usually getting on or off. It's in the middle of the night, so there's that. Also, freight crews CA:AZ change here, so maybe Amtrack does also?

No cafe on 371?

Not riding amtrak for a long while after they abandoned me thanks to the Mendon, MO derailment of 2022. No alternative transportation was provided and no ETA on when I could get a seat to my destination with no accommodation attempted or made. It took arbitration to be made, "Whole." It is unbelievable how poorly they treat ticketed and confirmed passengers accessing rural station stops when something goes wrong. Budget airlines, public transportation, and essential air routes are more dependable and accommodating... Can Coach passengers access the dining car yet? That was a covid rollback of service that had not resurfaced as of 2022... just microwaved hamburgers and pizza until they ran out about 30 hours into their trips... followed by no food for coach for the remainder of the trips. Happened all the time in 2022 as passenger numbers returned to normal. Have not been on these trains since... These long distance trains have had their day. It is well past time to retire them. Until then, the emaciated superliners from the 1970s will continue to haunt the rails with their hopelessly obsolete HVAC systems and powder rooms.

Awesome catch! I caught 144 leading 29 the day before. I overheard on my scanner that the A/C was not working and the engineer had to keep the doors open while the train was moving to let cool air in.
