Acting Manchester - A Short Film.
This amateur student film follows playwright, actor and director Chris Hoyle as he gives a walking tour around the city of Manchester. As we follow the tour, we enter into different parts of Chris' life which are symbolised and iconised by the locations that we visit. This film aims to show how Manchester has shaped Chris professionally, creatively and also personally. The film also uses Chris' story as a personal point of anchor through which to touch on wider aspects of Manchester's fascinating history, from its creative scene, to LGBTQ+ acceptance on Canal Street, and to its history of mass gatherings and protest.
