Proudly manufacturing bicycle parts in the UK. Established 1989.
Hope: Inside the Factory
This new film offers a glimpse behind the doors of Hope’s HQ, tucked away in the town of Barnoldswick in a rural corner of East Lancashire. You’ll get to meet the team behind the proudly UK-based, privately-owned manufacturer, see the process from drawing board to finished product and get a feel for the pure passion powering the constant innovation.
Ian Weatherill, co-founder and managing director, said: “It’s over 30 years now of manufacturing bike parts. We’re all very passionate about what we do - almost everyone here rides - and in this day and age we’re proud to be able to say that virtually all Hope products are designed and manufactured in the UK. Hopefully, this film gives an insight into what makes us tick and what drives the ongoing process of innovation.”

Ian Austermuhle doesn't get enough plaudits. One of our most consistent and smoothest riders. He's been quietly winning (or doing very well) for years now in Masters and now Veterans class, mostly at UK gravity and national events and a select few EWS rounds and maxi-avalanche races. Coming from a strong and successful trials background since he was 8 years old, Ian has some pretty top notch te...

Its good not just that hope make parts but also come and provide rewards at the pmba enduro races, I have full hope components on my full suspension and my sister has an academy hardtail thanks a lot to the academy and hope❤❤❤
This is the fastest thing i've ever ridden... It's so fast that I have to get used to having a faster bike... I want. To take my wheels to bed with me..... I love my Hope 5 Hubs!
What's with the clown color scheme?
Even as a mountain biker who’s never even seen a tt bike in person, I can’t deny that’s a gorgeous bike
Outstanding!! I got a Tech 4 for my bike and I am completely happy with it! Great job!!
Amazing video I just did my hope tech 4 e4s thanks man ur the man
Anyone had the circlip holding the pawls in come off?. After a month my wheel wouldn't freewheel, took off freehub to find the circlip had come off and rounded off the lip where it sits, hope sent out new freehub body, its now happened again on the new one
How to convert the 150mm to 148mm
I'm very curious who made frame for Hope for these bikes, they looked amazing!
Why the pawls so rusted
Still rocking my 2008-2010 ish M4 Union Jack edition brakes in raw aluminium. Sexy as hell, incredibly sturdy and so nicely adjustable. Those things are still top of the line brakes almost 15 years later. Bought them used around 2016 for 180 Euros which was the top end of my budget for a pair of brakes and one hell of a deal. The only real upgrade I did was switching to steel hoses and the occasional disc replacement. Have thought about maybe upgrading to a tech 3 lever in the future, but this would only be for the looks. Also: I think I may have been lucky with mine but I have not needed to bleed them in the past 4 years.
I've recently bought a set of Trial Zones so this video will come in handy when I need to bleed them.
Great vid! Which cutter/s do Hope recommend for the steel braided hydraulic hose?
"take your Hope stuff with you, and 9 times out of ten you're not going to have any problems" So a 10% failure rate then? 😂
Builded on a new Legend By Bertoletti titanium frame, soon pictures on my insta really beautifull calipers RX4 and far better than the original....
Worked lile a charm and i never did bleeding on any break before. Im just kind of stucked with rear brake where i had to take the hose out as i had to rpute it through the frame, small portion of bubbles still come out. The break itself isnt spongy so I guess i just ride it a bit and then rebleed.
A vice is also a press chances are you got one. A clamp (woodworking) is also a press. Be creative.
The best of the best!
So how many NM should you tighten the bleed cap? And question to any owners of theses breaks my breaks have been bleed 4 times by a bike shop they called hope and hope told them to swap out the cable so they did well still having the same problem so when I flip the bike upside down the break losses pressure the the front break doesn't do this at all and when I first bought this set neither was the rear I ride a lot so sometimes I have to flip my bike upside down to work on it.. does anyone know what it could be?
Looks like and Advertisement for SRAM and Shimano breaks! what a shitty method this was to bleed Hope brakes. Hope is a great company and makes great products, but they really need to get it together with their tutorials. This is embarrassing and makes their brakes seem waaaaay more complicated than they actually are to bleed.
at @5:57 you saying "just back the bleed port off" wtf does it mean? close it or open it?
Huge fan of hope. Rx4+ brakes on all my bikes. 🎉
In 2019 I was fortunate enough to have a new XC bike built and fitted with a X2 Uno brake system. Without Hope, my bike wouldn’t exist, wouldn’t be as safe. I would (and have) bet my life Hope quality and support.
A good brand, filled with good people, making brilliant stuff.
Hope plz sponsor me
Truly great to see a world class product from a UK owned company manufacturing in the UK
Brilliant work guys keep it up 👍
Awesome to see some manufacturing still taking place in the UK!
Ive still got a Hope Titanium rear hub on my old ( have actually replaced the bike after 18 yrs. ) Dr Jekyll Dirt Jump bike. Hammered the crap out of it and if i still, on occasions pull the old thing out of the garage, it runs as smooth as anything wlse out there and its hardly been serviced over the years
Any chance of 2.3mm floating rotors?
I love you guys...Anodised black caliper, and gold cylinder bore caps, mono minis are the most beautiful brakes in the world. ❤ (running an old retro pair.......still fine)
If it wasn’t for Chris King I would probably buy a lot more Hope products but lifetime bearing warranty vs 1 year is a no brainier. The bearings on my CK bb are original and have been on every mtb for the past 13-14 years.
Brilliant!
I'm proud to have at least one British component on my bike, Hope Rocks ❤
Where can I apply for a Job? Awesome video/company!
Love Hope, I've been using their stuff since the 90s. Although, in the early days, my front disc did warp when I heaved on the front brake, locking up the front wheel on my Orange P7 Pro SE. Unbolted the rotor and rode home. Great to see them getting bigger and stronger.
Did you know that HopeTech is a starship manufacturer in the game, Starfield?
Been Using Hope Components & Original BananaWax Wheel Peel Race Chain Wax for over 30 years. Both Simply Unbeaten.
Got hope brakes on my specialized carbon mtb 💯👍
Just built my orange clockwork with all hope parts 👌🏼👌🏼
Love what you do, I used to teach people to build fast jets, the attention to detail, the quality coupled with great looks and performance mean I will always be a fan.
Hope Pro 5 for rims - thanks.
I run your hubs, brakes, headsets etc you name it, none of which has ever broke on me. It's still mindblowing how you can make such a precision products at reasonable cost in the UK.
I am very happy with my hope wheels, you guys make good products, you should feel proud
Can’t beat good old style British engineering absolutely love your stuff looks amazing and it’s tuff and bits are easily replaceable
This is why i had a passion for bikes i couldent on on with the breaks but i loved the hope pro 4 wheels they was bomb proof i went most places 💪
As a toolmaker myself and a MTB lover working here would be my absolute dream sadly it's a commute from South Wales. Although one day I'd love to see the factory
I'm a big fan of Hope for many years. My Hope Pro 2 Hub is running great for 12 years now. And I can still get any replacement part. Much respect to this company 🙌
Great Products!!
i love the brand and the quality. i have hope brakes, rims, hubs, BB, chainrings on my bikes. i scoff at youtube videos of 'dream builds' and people put sram cranks and brakes on their bikes. these people don't even dream higher. if you have a dream bike, then it's got to be platered with hope everything.
