I believe all the talk about them hating each other was a load of BS. Apart from their legal issues with Allan Klein, the obvious fact was by the last album they were all simply tired of being Beatles and wanted to enjoy life a little and spend more time with their families. Yoko didn't break up the Beatles, the Beatles did. And after it was all over with, all 4 of them remained close friends.

I recall sitting on a beach just outside Weymouth, Dorset on a cloudless hot day. I heard two claps of thunder, which confused me because there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. Then I looked up and saw a contrail with a small white arrow head. It was Concorde coming home from New York, and going from supersonic to subsonic prior to landing at London Heathrow. The only other time I saw Concorde in flight was at the RIAT Fairford in formation with the Red Arrows.
Oh so missed, that beautiful man. Interesting timing, my clicking on this - can just imagine what Robin would do with the trial & guilty verdict going on right now.... 😏

I got to see the Concorde take off from Heathrow in 1980. It was so loud I had to _plug my ears_ and my _chest rattled_ while sitting in a 737 waiting to take off. The only other time I experienced that type of power was watching the SR-71 take off from Payne Field north of Seattle the day after an air show. That was even worse when the pilot did a "fast" flyby, but what a RUSH!!

I had drinks with Keith Emerson, at the Canyon Club (I was there with Billy Sherwood and Tony Kaye, they didn’t tell me Keith was coming until he sat down!).
