Is Pollock all the same gender per floor?
@@cindyd8702 yes! It alternates between female floor and male floor. Beaver hall is co-Ed floors tho, that is the one exception I’m aware of
My son will be moving into Schulze. Do you know if this building has the bolsters? Trying to decide on a nightstand but don’t know if I should get a narrow one like the cart you have so it fits between his bed and his roommates bolster, or if I can get him one that is wider. Also, do you know the height of the bottom of the bed frame from the floor? I believe he will have the same kind of metal bed frame that you have. I have bed risers but want to get bins that will fit.
@@jroyale2127 I’m not sure if it has bolsters, they are all different with that. I would get the little cart or a plastic 3 drawer bin from Walmart or target! I’m unsure of the height for the bottom of the bed frame to the floor. I got plastic bed risers and was able to fit large plastic storage bins underneath!

How do students go to Walmart and areas around the school if they don't have cars? I just got accepted to this campus but I'm a little scared to go because I'll be a freshman that can't drive yet...
There’s a target downtown within walking distance! There’s also other drugstores downtown that have things you might need. Otherwise, you’ll probably make friends with someone with a car or you can uber to the big target and walmart!

Typically all first year students will be put with a roommate. You can apply for a single room on campus your second year!
Great video, Zoe. I lived in McKee Hall in West when I was in undergrad, and I loved Pollock too. Even though it's not renovated, they are next as soon as all the buildings in East are done. Like you said, you are mostly there to sleep and shower lol. It has the best food choices, is right next to the HUB and classroom buildings. West and Pollock def first choices...I love that they both have the traditional quad type look even if the buildings look different.
I am almost 22 years old and I am a veteran, and just got accepted to University Park for fall 2024, so I am very perplexed about what to put for preferences. Like everyone else, I do definitely want something renovated. But me being older, yet a freshman, puts me in an odd position.

Pollock are the best dorms and I stayed in 3 different ones during my time there. .

It is not, but there are so many first year students that you will find a lot in every residential area :)

No AC in traditional dorms, but there is AC in renovated! I just made sure to have a few fans in the beginning of the year :)

Honestly I don’t remember which size my roommate bought, the dorms are pretty small so I would probably go with the smaller size!

My son finally picked his housing at Penn State, took some time to figure out which place.
As an incoming freshmen, do you recommend North halls or south renovated? I personally found suites appealing because of their private bathrooms haha
It honestly depends on where you want to be located on campus! North is definitely smaller and quiet and south is next to downtown and centrally located!

I was wondering if you could tell if you find out who would be your roommate before you actually go to the college and coordinate on things you get for the room like something that you don’t need a duplicate of and could share. Something like you mentioned a step stool or keurig. Thanks in advance. And good luck to you.
Hi!! Whether you request a specific roommate or go random, you will find out over the summer. They will provide an email address of this person so you can contact them. From there, you can sort out who will bring what to the dorm, hope this helps!!

You would have to bring your own, it isn’t included with the dorms!

You rock Zoe. I lived in Pollack for three years in the early 90s and loved it, but needed something other than blueprints to convince my incoming Freshman daughter '27 of all the cool features. Signed the contract with Pollack in the #1 spot after this. Well done.

My mean older sister is Penn State alumni she majored in Biology she loved it I’m a Sophomore now at St. Bonaventure University as a Finance major my older brother is a senior at Temple University studying Legal Studies and my other mean older sister is a University Of Delaware alumni she majored in clinical laboratory science I’m so glad my older sisters are out of the house they’re so mean to me

It’s one huge countertop, with two desks on opposite ends. There are also 2 chairs

Hi! I think that size for a dresser should be good. I would maybe suggest getting a 3 tier rolling cart instead. I used it for storage as well as an en table!
If you are in pollock, the bolsters depend on the building you are in. Some have them and some don’t!

Do you recommend bringing a mirror like that one to an unrenovated dorm?
I didn’t because I didn’t really have anywhere to put it! Most of the dorms have some kind of mirror
I love all your videos so much! I was wondering if there are door stoppers in the pollock dorms? And do you think that would be something good to get before moving in?
There aren't door stoppers, but I really recommend getting one! My roommate brought one and it was nice because we just left our door propped open for our friends to come in :)
