DIY AC10 demo with Weber MiniMass
zhlédnutí 1,3KPřed 9 lety
This is an AC10 circuit with only some minor tweaks. It has a 250v power transformer rather than a 300v and then uses a 5v4 rectifier rather than a 5y3. I find that this gives me the correct voltages but with less voltage drop from the rectifier I get a bit less sag. It tightens up the amp a bit. It's also a regular flat layout in a headcab rather than the folded chassis design of the AC10 Twin...

Excellent ! I loved the way you explained Sends On Fader
You definitely do a better job than average of teaching this stuff. Well done. I wish this particular video had delved more in-depth into individual musicians controlling their own monitor mixes. The first question that will pop into the average mixer's mind is, "Can I limit them to ONLY being able to adjust their own monitor mix so they can't accidentally mess up someone else's?"
Well explain on how to route the inputs instruments using send on fader better than othe videos on Behringer and Midas.
What kind of router can I used to connect my iPad?
Just scored one of these at the Flea market for a tenner seemingly in working condition. Rubbing the needle produced sound. This is the exact reason I got it to do this, but can't find a schematic. Any help would be appreciated.
Great video
Bad is to cant set eq of each channel and sent to mix of monitor with no touch main
Hi all, good video. How long in the oven and at what temperature please?
Is it possible to solo the bus sends in the headphones? I am looking to set up two busses as a stereo "monitor" for a live stream on outputs 5and 6 but want to check output mix in headphones before we begin the livestream
Thanks! This was awesome
Just happened on your video while looking for replacement paks. Didn't think about recharging them. Mange Takk.
Hey. Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian? If yes could you please make same video in one of those languages?
No audio
Can't see what's on the mixer screen
Thanks for this video - I've watched a bunch of others, including the ones from Behringer, which were not only not helpful but downright confusing in some cases. I wish I would have watched this one first...it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration (coming from the aspect of an analog board really helped...) Any chance of updating it using the x32 Producer?
Is it ok to store the guitar in gig bag instead of hardcase ?
Thank you!
Nice one Buddy! Mine were full of moisture when the arrived so they are drying out above my cooker. Soggy damp UK, not good for guitars! Many thanks! 👍
Is your main scene from factory settings?
Thanks bro, watching these video mid service, kinda got put in to handling media out of nowhere 🤣🤣🤣
Nice

Damn man, fix your SOUND!
Good hack.
This is great. Starting to like this board now. Thanks!
Best Video Ever

I have some questions wondering if you could help
Thanks for the tutorial bro. Not all CZcamsrs can explain well. They even create a course! And they cannot teach well. Your tutorials are great. If you create a course on Udemy or your own website, I would enroll.
I have been using various techniques for over 40 years and have multiple solid wood instruments. The soap dish and sponge works if you check them often and there is possibility of mold in a wet climate. I finally settled on the 20 packs of boveda bags. The bowl technique in the video works if you only have 1 or 2 packs, although no reason to set them in sun and risk of promoting microbial growth with heat as microbes and molds will grow faster sometimes dependent of species. I have found best way to recharge multiple packs is to use gallon sized zip locks and layer then with new damp ocelo brand sponges that have the 3m antimicrobial treatment. You can find them in 16 packs on amazon for about $15. The sponges are same size as the boveda guitar packs. Dampen sponges and squeeze out the sponges, layer them 2 at a time like making lasagna into the zip lock bags alternating the boveda bags with damp sponges so the bags have sponges on top and on bottom. When bag is about 2/3 close the zip lock and just place it anywhere, no need to add heat. In about 4-5 days the bags all plump out. Basically, when sponges are dry, they are ready. I have been doing this for about 2 years now and live in harsh dry desert climate. The bags can get huge if you redampen the sponges and give them more time, not sure if good or bad, but it seems to give them a longer life. I might throw out the bags in a few more years or try pressure testing them to look for leaks or blow outs. I like the pouches for inserting into the soundhole and then put another bag or 2 at end of case in head stock in a sock, soft sunglass case, soap dish, cut up small zipp lock or even just throw them in loose for a lessor guitar. After using the sponges a few times, I retire them to the sink and buy new as I am concerned about them molding as they age. Please tell me if I am doing anything wrong, but this seems to work best for me as the dish system was a hassle for doing 20 bags at a time. Hope this helps!
What I have been doing is during the winter when the packets start to dry out, I place a case humidifier made with a drilled out soap dish and a damp sponge in the case. This raises the humidity in the case just a little but enough to have the humidipak absorb and recharge with moisture again. My hygrometer indicates a max of 50% and a min of 43% using this method so the guitar is not being over humidified. I usually throw out the packets at the end of the heating season. I never considered using an oven to dry them out.
DO you know if this system can be used just as effectively with an acoustic stored in a soft case?
No soft cases breath and do not hold humidity, in a dry climate your guitar will dry out and in humid climate you risk molds. Soft gig bags are good for a quick trip to gig or jam or maybe a festival, but you need to buy a good hard case for a good guitar. If you have cheap laminate wood guitar, none of this matters as much, but solid wood, buy a nice case. The abs or other similar cases hold humidity for me 2x longer than a normal toltex covered plywood HSC, so choose wisely. This is my opinion and not the bible.
It depends on the softcase. The Taylor softcase that comes with Taylor guitars will hold moisture pretty well, especially since the packets are inside the guitar body.
Great video. I have a couple questions. We use 4 wedges, aux 1-4, simple. I typically start a baseline with the mix bus sends knob on the console first, then fine tune with sends on fader. I'm not sure what happened, but the first two knobs were aux 1&2, just like you adjusted at the 2:36, but now, knob 3 & 4 are aux 1&2. At our last gig, I turned off all the mix from the drums and it will still registering. I also had post fader on #13 that was registering, but I had no idea what was coming through it. How do I get monitor 1-4 to correspond correctly with knobs 1-4? Any help would be greatly appreciated
God bless thanks for the series it really help a lot. Will start putting that knowledge into action now.
I’ve watched the official videos from Beringer and Midas like 15 times on this. They should post your video. Trainings on this board using the “what we used to do on analog boards” approach is right on target for me and probably most of the others out there. Thank you! 🙏 Now I have to figure out how to route mix busses out the lxr outs and see if I can pan a mix bus. I bought some dual xlr to 3.5mm cables. I want mix bus one to be left and 2 to be right. Seems overly complicated. Who cares if in ear monitors are in stereo? Right? When I figure it out I’ll make a video.
Agree. There are so many gurus out there and I don't understand what they are saying. These tutorial videos are great.
Just wanted to chime in here....the beautiful thing about Humidipaks is that it does dispense and absorb humidity to maintain the proper level and yes you can recharge them. However, the packets are made to be disposable and overtime doing this, the seal of the packet could become compromised and fail from typical wear and tear. So...just a word of caution about doing this. I'd hate to see a valued guitar become damaged from non-intended use of the product.
Thanks
This was very helpful! I am going on tour with my school’s worship live team and they use the x32 on tour. Thank you!
Hey, I liked the video but as a recommendation for the next tutorials if I may; put more gain in that mic dude please... and locate the console straight, its easier to see everything. Nice video though, thanks and God bless you.
Huh? What happened here?
Thankyou . How do i setup a click track directly to monitors( inears)so it bypasses the FOH
KAIVILI You would have the click as an input then have the fader for FOH for the click input on 0 then through the monitor busses pull the click fader up.
Thanks for the video misha golin . Huge help . Can anyone help me please .. Ive got an x32 compact mixer . Im using it with Abelton Live . Can i use the outputs channel 17-32 on my x32 ?. When i select channel output 32 in abelton ie i get no signal on the x32 mixer . im doing something wrong..
Great info ! Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much. My biggest objection to these was the disposable nature, not for cash reason, but yeah, but for environmental reasons. This changes everything. May your sustain be long and may you never buzz a string. Thanks!
Exactly what I thought! Not good for the environment that! 👍
Pretty good, but I know what "compression" is. I really only needed info about how to use the mixer. ....but, Thank you for posting!
Inaudible!!
Low audio (had to crank up to 100%) but just what I need as a newbie - a beginner video. Thanks!
Thats smart SO the mic we are hearing in this video, Is being processed through that mixer? Yes the answer is yes, More of the mixer tutorials should do it like this, So we the watchers, can easily understand what a EQ or whatever does....
Fortunately for me, I didn’t throw away those packets when they dried out. It occurred to me that if the bag was permeable one way, it should be permeable the other way. I searched the net to see if they could be rehydrated and found this video. The instructions made sense, so I tried one packet, and it worked. I then got a one of the bigger square Tupperware type containers, put a small bowl of water in the center of it, and surrounded that little bowl with a dozen dried out packets and put the lid on it. I put that on a window sill that gets a lot of sun. The whole dozen rehydrated. As they rehydrated, I added water to the small bowl. It took about couple of months over the summer, but it worked. So now I’ve got a great supply, and it looks to me like I won’t have to buy another one of these things for years to come. I’m going to try a couple other ways to rehydrate them. Awesome find. This info is worth a few bucks!
Im thinking of getting one
