How to Make a Pretty Darn Decent SOURDOUGH Loaf!
zhlédnutí 139Před 2 lety
I have been working on getting comfortable with sourdough for nearly two years now, and this loaf of bread is my favorite thing to make using my sourdough start. When it is cold outside it can be hard to find a warm place to let the dough rise. In the summer it is much easier to just leave the covered dough outside to rise. The music in this video is just me picking on my guitar the old folk so...

Mountain Lake with my Cousin
zhlédnutí 17Před 4 lety
My cousin, Brandon, and I hiked into a mountain lake near where I grew up. We didn't take a fishing pole, but when we got there we could see a lot of big, beautiful fish swimming around. We tried catching some with a willow branch pole, but I eventually ran back to the vehicle to grab my pole and tackle box. Once I got back though, the fish seemed to have no interest in my bait or lures! It was...

    Nice job! I have two of these, one of which was lengthened out to fit a M14. Also have an M1 Carbine scabbard that I paid dearly for.

    Picked up the same scabbard at an antique store that was in pretty rough shape about a week ago. This video has helped me through the proccess of restoring it and its almost looking good as new! These were made for the M1 Garand During WWII to put on US army jeeps and motorcycles. Once again, thank you so much!

    great video! how long ago did you feed the starter before adding it to the flour/water/salt?

    • @noyesgear2142
      @noyesgear2142 Před rokem

      About 6 hours is generally best. That can vary a bit depending on how healthy your start is and how warm/cold it is, but I generally shoot for feeding it about 6/8 hours before I start making a loaf.

    Thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching and I think you gave the scabbard a great transformation. I did want to learn more. I wish you had said a few words about the last two products you were using and why. I got the first few steps: damp cloth, then saddle soap, then oil... what did you rub in after the oil? and what was the final coat you put on at the end? Thanks again!

      @noyesgear2142 Před rokem

      The oil was Neatsfoot Oil, and the last stuff I put on was Skidmore's leather Cream - I think I did like 2 coats of that.
