Hi Andreas, big fan here, great quality content as usual! I have one cosideration though: at 33:36 minutes you attack with the Grief so you give them the choice to double block and trade, and now the oop has the opportunity to Reanimate if they topdeck and take away your Frog. In my opninio, not attacking there and playing Frog next turn will give you more advantages, almost closing the game in your favour. Any thoughts?

Wrote this to a friend who's super new to cube, and partially to formulate my own thoughts given these much more competitive cube events in the works. Curious to hear your thoughts if you're interested in reading this wall of text! This is starting from the premise that vintage cube is a very high variance format. Basically, aside from starting with a short list of very high power, archetype specific cards (entomb, urza's saga, flash and that's honestly about it), the most winning strategy for me by far is 3-4 color green. There are a multitude of reasons for this I believe, it can utilize basically all power/broken fast mana, so you basically never are forced to pass that stuff in later packs in favor of a synergy card. It enables splashing high power cards of all kinds opened or passed late in the draft (minsc, fourth, fire convenient, bowmasters, bombardiers, the list goes on). You have many colors in which to nab a handful of 1-2 mana interaction spells. And lastly, it allows you to figure out your dominant colors later in the draft once you have more info about what the table is doing. In other words, I'm advocating soft forcing Gxyz "the hard way". To be clear, we're not talking about a true ramp deck here, were talking about prioritizing noble, ignoble, hafling, exploration, deathrite and birds (paradise druid, sylvan caryatid, STE, plunderer and Magda being the backups) to play busted 3s and 4s a turn ahead of curve. The downside is, you need to devote early picks to mana, fetches and the green one drops being the highest priority, and then duals and triomes to round it out, hopefully in later picks. Additionally, if I'm playing vs better players than myself, I need to build a deck full of cards that can "win on their own". I can win matches playing grixis control/UW, but there is a 0% chance I can win that much consistently with control. And an even lower percentage I can win that much with combo. My experience is that the ceiling is a little lower on this approach than going hard for a more linear deck, but the floor is conversely significantly higher as you can play all of the powerful cards passed in the latter part of the packs. And you basically can't be snaked by the pod or by variance of key cards not being opened at all.

Worth noting, Broodscale combo can still win through the Trespasser's Curse if their wincon relies on etb/ltb and not sacrificing the spawn (like munitions)

I would have taken the Taiga and the Stomping Grounds. I also during the draft would have considered Mine Collapse and Metamorph as in the decks 23 final cards until proven wrong bye better cards. Now im going to watch the games deck building portion and maybe the games. Well drafted.

I always enjoy some copies of entomb in the mirror, since they can also act as a tutor for coffin purge.

That last game the question I thought of is “should I mull”. Your deck has absurd fast mana and their strat was the kryptonite to yours. Just drawing another land sooner was the dealbreaker it seemed.

I've got a fairly big tournament coming up in two weeks and am currently trying to figure out if I want to play Scaminator or Grixis Delver. Scaminator is clearly at the top of the format, but I've found Delver to be quite good at punishing Scaminator if they don't specifically have the Entomb + Reanimate + protection start. However, for my personal play, the big advantage I see in playing Scaminator right now is that it has a bunch of easier matchups against the non-blue decks where Delver can struggle more against decks like DnT or Painter. What I like a lot about Delver right now is that you just get to play up to 4 Pyro/Red Blasts. Do you think there are good enough reasons to play Delver right now or is it just Scaminator all the way?

Hey there, i am the guy who took the picture of you and Kai :) apparently it turned out pretty good, despite my lack of photography skills :D I did not recognize you, sorry for that. I found your channel only last week and you looked familiar but I could not make the connection until a friend had your post with the picture on his twitter feed. The conversation I had this morning with Kai was great, he really is a great guy. I really hope you didn’t feel like you were interrupting us or something like that, I was just so caught in the moment because I did not expect to have an actual conversation with him when I asked him for a picture.
