Paramotor Training - Salton Sea, CA
My friend and I travel to Salton Sea, an off-roading and all around power-sports Mecca, for Paramotor (or Powered Paragliding) training from Mike Masterson from WestCoast Paragliding. We had a great time leanring the ins and outs and left there as proficient beginners.

So first and foremost, sorry for the blades of the drone being visible in alot of shots, I was working at the altitude limit but didn't want to cut out the top of the mountain. Special thanks to Chris for hiking through some deep snow and up steep hills to get to a good launch site. Music is from www.bensound.com.
Red Rock Canyon - Beautiful Scenery - 4K

Had an amazing time flying out at Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area. Video shot with a DJI Phantom 4, Video edited with Adobe Premiere Pro (thanks for the recommendation josh). Music provided by www.bensound.com. Forgive the first two cut scenes, the color editor freaked out and i couldn't revert to original after the edit, so just mentally lower the sharpness lol.

Bob's Drone Adventures are do still fly occasionally, I haven’t made any videos recently but I do have a video I’m editing from Alaska. Yes my drone is a phantom 4 pro.
Just stumbled across this video of you training with Mike. Awesome! He trained my son and I this January. Brought back great memories. I was fortunate to have extra radios around and was able to catch a lot of his directions to us while we were training. I'm considering Mike for my training. How many days of training was there and what was the cost of training? Did he offer any kind of a discount on the price of gear for training with him?
Dreaklock there were 5 days of training total, 3 days of paragliding and 2 days of paramotoring. I think the advertised cost was $1500 and that included equipment costs. I’d rather not speak to discounts because the situations warranting them are so varied and I don’t want to spread bad information. But all that being said, it was definitely worth it.
Thanks for the response! Do you think he would be a good choice if I'm looking purely at paramotoring and not paragliding? Also, what type of PPG motors does he train on? I'm personally looking into buying an Air Conception paramotor so it would be nice to train on the model I'm gonna buy if it's at all possible.
Yes regardless of if you are interested in continuing paragliding after train you will still have to do the three days of paragliding to teach the basics of kiting, inflation’s, piloting the wing, and landings, before you put on a motor. He is a retailer of the air conceptions and I trained on the 200cc.
Where do you guys find these ideal winds for reverse launch? Every time I've been to Salton Sea it's dead calm no wind or blow'n too much, I guess timing is key.
Iamover thelies lol it was all luck, almost our whole first day the winds were blowing 15+, we got one flight each as the sun was going down. The second day was perfect all day.
Yes I agree, luck of the draw. If you have 3-4 days spare, generally one or two will come up good. I need a job that gives me 4 day weekends.
