    I've always wondered about the bobby jones films like this and the vitaphone series as to where they were shown like at public movie theaters or sold retail. I bought some on VHS back in the 80's and 90's. it's so cool to see the early golf videos and nice they are on CZcams.

    "Come flame or fury the race goes on". We have to remember many people who either participated or watched were only 10-15 years near World War One and the era of everything new was pretty much deadly. Life went on...and so did the races. Today there'd be a red flag and end of the show "out of respect for the deceased". I'd venture to say if the deceased could have a word they'd say, "Come flame or fury the race must go on"!

    My dad was stationed at Elmendorf. We lived on Park Street in the Mountain View neighborhood and I went to Mt. View Elementary (which is still there, BTW). I was ten, and I heard the earthquake coming before it hit. It was so strong we couldn't even stand up for more than a few seconds. That's an experience you never forget.

      I don't imagine that anyone could forget such a terrifying event, especially when the physics involved weren't so well understood as they are now. I'm glad you managed to survive. I'm wondering if you could tell me, or point me to a resource that discusses how they managed to repair 4th avenue since half the street sank by such a large amount. I've seen it today and you'd never know that had happened. It's really impressive the way the city bounced back from such catastrophic damage. I'm moving to Anchorage in a couple of years and I'm very curious about the history of this event, especially how they fixed the downtown area.

      @@cinepost To be perfectly honest, I'm just curious about the whole process and how much does it actually cost. Recently several old music videos are getting 4K rescans and it left me curious about it all (and why many still haven't got rescanned), Sorry for the ignorance. And is 35mm film 4K or higher even?

    • @cinepost
      @cinepost Před 5 měsíci

      @@SantiagoMonroy5 35mm or 16mm to 4k cost the same to rescan….. $1000-2000 maybe… but you then have to import to a 4k project and do a video layback to the original cut by cut. This costs A little money too if color And effects are needed… it all depends.
