Jack is a really sad character. He went back in time to meet the doctor but went to far back and was forced to live through 2 world wars and before he figured out he was immortal he probably thought he would die alone in the past. Then he had to wait 100 years to be with a doctor who he had only spent a few days with. But those days made him so obsessed with the doctor so when he finally met the doctor again he didn't even hold a grudge. Jack and Marthas storylines just made the doctor into an asshole. They did everything forhim and he never appreciated him. He knew Jack was immortal and instead of helping him and explaining it he just abandoned Jack. He could have atleast brought Jack to a better time period or let him say goodbye to Rose but instead he left him and when Jack finally found him he tried to leave him behind again.

This is great, and I hate to nitpick but in Torchwood when we hear the TARDIS, it's materializing, not dematerializing, especially as Gwen comes in right after Jack disappears. Still a great edit though. :)

What I'm trying to work out is that the TARDIS is at ground level but Torchwood is quite a way below so how is the TARDIS causing papers to blow around in Torchwood? 🤔.

I kind of think that if you're watching Doctor Who in chronological order, it's SUPER WEIRD and Out of Character for The Doctor to just up and leave Jack like that. They kind of talk about it a little bit later on in the episode but it really doesn't make a lot of sense for The Doctor to just, "Ew my friend is a paradox. Better HIT THE OLE COSMIC TRAIL before he has a chance to talk to me." Even though Jack just WANTS to be cured. Like. Doc???? Why don't you just.......... talk to him??? This could've all been prevented if you weren't a huge dickhead.

This was really well done! The timing is slightly off though, at 3:06 when they're pulling the camera back over the plaza you can see a small speck sprinting from one end to the other to match Jack's movement in Dr. Who. Crazy attention to detail!

It would've been cool if they edited this into Utopia or made it a "Last Time..." segment.

Now for the Doctor, he has one major search as a way to find himself, again. Ironic Galifreyans are a people whom families are imortant. Like many Time Lords, the Doctor had lost one of his children. For any parent, the loss of one of their children is a tragic event. For the Doctor, the loss of his child who was a member of the Military had haunted him until the Last Days of the war. The Doctor was likely anger over how his child died. Ironic this child died due to sacrificing himself in order to save his father. To the Doctor's child, his father was more important than himself. For the Doctor, his child's sacrifice continues to haunt him. Like any parent who loses one child before they died, the death of one of the Doctor's children was the tragedy which save the Known Universe as well as other Universes. For the Fifteenth Doctor, the time for him to come in terms with his child's sacrifice. Yet even as the 15th Doctor tries to seek closure, something always unexpected gets in the way of his desires for final closure. As the Doctor struggles to seek closure, a new enemy form another Universe emerges in the Known Universe. In order to understand the new enemy, the Doctor must travel to the new enemy's universe of origin. Ironic like the Doctor himself, his parallel self is a lot like him. Like himself, the Doctor's fellow Doctor is one of the dangerous beings in the Universe as well as one of the most fear.

The reason why the BBC never did this was because that torchwood is a adult only show and the BBC puts the doctor as a child friendly character and are very carefull about him appearing in adults only shows. He appeared in 2 episodes of the Sarah Jane adventures because that was a child friendly show and torchwood characters can appear in doctor who and I don't know if any doctor who characters have appeared in torchwood

Its stange knowing that in the DR who universe, stuff like the 456 happens or even things like Oswald Danes. Or the catastrophe of miracle day. Alot of the time you would almost forget the 2 series are connected. But then you see things like that. the Dr.s reference at the end of children of earth has to be the most haunting moment of either of the series really. Immagine if the Dr knowed about the 456.

if love to see this with the added scenes of Frodo at the start, where in TLOTR Bilbo tells Frodo to get the door but he's busy reading. At the start of the hobbit, he tells Bilbo that he's going to see if he can find/wait for Gandalf, which is why he sat reading/wating for him. somewhere, Frodo hops out of Gandalfs wagon, probably to visit the green dragon, and that's where gandalf rides up to Bag end. i'd love to see the whole thing cut together.

The only question that still queries me is this… how did Jack get outside? We know he couldn’t have use the pavement slab infused with Chameleon Circuit properties as the TARDIS was parked on top of it… plus we see Jack running from the direction of the waterfront (Mermaid Quay); across Roald Dahl Plass & towards the slab aka the TARDIS We know he couldn’t have used the main exit aka through the the giant gear (still awesome) & towards the tourist information entrance as Tosh, Ianto & Owen were coming that way It’s not confirmed where the garage for Torchwood’s vehicles such as the Torchwood SUV & the personal vehicles of Torchwood staff - I think we can probably assume that likely located in the secret hallway entrance in the tourist info centre aka in the opposite direction to where Gwen walked when she entered the Hub for the very first time We can safely know that Jack didn’t use the ladder in his office (as seen in this clip) as Gwen was in his office & obviously didn’t see him leave Regarding Jack’s Vortex Manipulator; we know it’s time travel & teleportation functions ceased to work until the Doctor intervened - quite certain the teleport function definitely didn’t work until the Doctor! So it begs the question of how Jack got out of the hub, to Mermaid Quay in order to run towards the Tardis without the Torchwood team obviously see him?!

This is a nice edit, but wouldn't you put the aerial shot of Jack running to the TARDIS from Torchwood in parallel with the closeup shots of Jack running to the TARDIS from Doctor Who.

Except for the fact that you can *see* Jack running across the plaza - notice the thing moving really fast between 3:07 and 3:10? - and the TARDIS *in* the plaza. Pause at 3:08 and it's at the top right hand corner, about to vanish off screen due to the zoom out - pretty good.
