My tia has that dog 😭😭😭
yes!!! I’ve always wanted a Boston Terrier!
🚨 Long post alert 🚨 There are dates that I feel serve as life markers. Birth date. Graduation date. First time… While some of these markers are joyous, Some gut you. 5.6.20; 7.6.20; 9.7.21. Anyone that knows me was very well acquainted with my Staffy bully O S C A R. For 14 years of my life, he was the homie. The day I took him to the vet and was told that further treatments would increase his pain and the best thing for him was to let him go was the top 3 hardest things I’ve endured in my adult life. Having already lost my moms the year prior then to lose my fur child, there were days that begin and ended in tears. People immediately begin asking me. When are you going to get another dog, are you going to get another dog and I reply no I’m not ready and I don’t know if I ever will be. What I didn’t know is that pieces of my heart had been taken, and I needed to give myself time to grieve and allow my heart to heal. The best decision I made was not only going into therapy, but also finding a grief counseling group so that I can begin to process not only Oscars death, but also the death of my mother’s and inevitable deaths yet to come. so last week when I passed by the couple advertising puppies in the Walmart parking lot, I of course, stopped. Just to look. I had no intention of leaving with Deuce. But when I saw him and I held him, I knew. I was ready to open up my heart again. And so far, the two of us are doing on. losing someone that you love that you have given pieces of your heart too is one of the hardest markers that life will do you. One thing I’ve learned about grief is it’s different for everybody and there is no timeline on grief. I also learned that the memories in the moments sometimes hit you and that’s also OK. It’s also OK to after you feel you healed to open up your heart again. so I wanted to encourage someone who’s going through the grieving process by giving you a little sunshine by way of the cutest puppy ever: period. #nattygeek78 #embraceyourinnergeek #cutestpuppy #livingthedeucelife #animalshorts #bostonterriersofyoutube #bostonterrier #fyp

This week, May 6-10 is National Teacher Week! All week educators are being bombarded with a cornucopia of freebies and discounts. 👩🏾🏫 Do educators love the extra punny gifts, the jeans passes, the free food, swag, early outs, and gift cards of love we receive during the month of MAY? HELL YEA. Educators are used to getting scraps so we'll take the extra morsels when we can. ✏️ But if you ask any educator, all they truly want is actual APPRECIATION for the service they deliver day in and day out for 180, 210, or 365 days a year. ✏️ Many educators would define actual appreciation as competitive and comparable pay based on our years of experience and the mandated licensure requirements. ✏️ Others would say actual appreciation is support and protection from school & district leaders. ✏️ Plenty simply want the appreciation of knowing they can report to work and just educate versus finding creative ways to manage and redirect students who have no real consequences when they make poor choices. ✏️ Some would say appreciation mirrors an educational system based on true equity. One that attempts to truly educate all our students - reaching them where they are individuals and allow them to discover and embrace the inner geek that live inside.
Usually the teacher that has had the greatest impact was the one that left or produced the lawyer impression or effect. Thank you to the educators who left a major mark: Gloria Chambers Jacqueline Kanipe Mrs. Hope Mrs. Stuart Mrs. Cole Mrs. Peeler Mr. Justice Dr. Sandy Sikes Dr. Barbara Zwadyk Pastor Kathy A. Merritt impactful (im· pact· ful) producing a marked impression or effect on a person, place, or thing. Comment and tag those educators who left or at still leaving a mark for you. #nattygeek78 #embraceyourinnergeek #fyp #foryou #contentcreator #teachersofinstagram #teacherstruggles #teacherlife #teacherproblems #teachersfollowteachers #teachertribe #teacher #teachers #teacherblogger #teacherappreciationweek #viral #reels #

1. Number the paragraphs - this helps with those special questions to give a written response. 2. Highlight the title - make any inferences, predictions, or any generalizations, or any opinions about the title of the text you are reading. 3. Prep for the story basics - plot, setting, characters, and conflict. Put them on a sticky note or in the margin. 4. Create a system to annotate - colours, underline, circle, box- mean something. Use this to highlight your plot, setting, characters, conflict, and thoughts/questions/ideas in the text. Be consistent with your system throughout your text analysis. 5. Update your story basics (i.e. plot, setting, characters, and conflict) details as you get them in the text. 6. Beginning of your prediction and analytic analysis of the story. Annotate text with “PC” that you have a connection with (i.e. PC = personal connection) 7. Read and repeat - steps 1 to 6. 8. Picking out the literary devices of the text - e.g. personification, imagery, symbolism, similes, metaphors, alliterations. Also decipher the tone, atmosphere, and mood of the text. Think about how the characters’ tones and moods, feelings, and emotions are changing, and then begin to see word patterns and phrases emerge, and/or repeat as you are still updating your four-story basics. Pay attention to how the author is using literary elements to drive the plot. 9. Attack those words - words that you know, words that you do not know, words that surprise you, intrigue you, or shock you. 10. Monitor the changes in the plot and the conflict - what conflict emerges at the beginning of the story. How are those conflicts resolved? Where does the story begin to take a turn, with the rising action, and hit the climax of the story? Where do you see the following action start to occur? Ultimately, what was the resolution in the story? 11. Read and repeat - steps 1 to 10
