Hello, quick question, how’s the crime rate in Darien and do you think the new developments could potentially aid to an increased crime rate? I was doing research and I’ve seen a handful of comments of people saying that Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, New Haven, and Hartford are dangerous places to live. I’m only curious because I believe Darien is sandwiched between Stamford and Norwalk.

Good review Charlie! We’re so happy and glsd we purchased our home here at the beach back in 1999! And that we added an addition three years ago. We often walk to town and catch a casual lunch at Sinclair or Malibu. And of course we love CENTRO & MOLTO as well!

We lived in the area (Colony Road) for 24 years and raised our family here. It was (and still is) a lovely place to live. I’m very happy we chose call Darien home.

I moved from Westport to wilton back to Westport like 9 months ago... before I live downtown Westport.. now I live in Saugatuck which is great, because I work in New Canaan so I can literally hop on the train into New Canaan if I want too.. however, I still drive lol.. I do miss wilton though... I was in Wilton for a year, but I missed living on acres of land...

As a North Dakotan I always say that my ancestors didn’t travel far enough west for anything fun and didn’t stay far enough east for anything fun hence I am stuck where I am and I want out.

I appreciate all the data and would like to buy in the next two years... but I'd really appreciate you sharing more information about the town vibes and culture of each of the towns and just more subjective opinion. All the data is online, but I think people choose realtors based on vibe and their expert opinion of the towns....

I definitely miss my hometown of Darien CT

I lived in both Greenwich and Scarsdale. Loved both, preferred Greenwich for more trees, bigger properties, more stores and restaurants. There's more traffic in Greenwich, but to me, the gems are Tod's Point and the library. Greenwich is vast and each little enclave/sector is very different from one another. I miss it and would have stayed if I could afford living my retirement there. Now I live down south... much more affordable but it misses the charm and sophistication.

You don't want to see I grew up in Rye New York 10580. But my other favorite zip code is 06980 Greenwich. In 1980 I worked at Xerox Northeast Regional Headquarters at 2 Pickwick Plaza. Although I've been a long time Chelsea Manhattan resident with my father passing in 2019 at the age of 90 my parents were married 63 years when we were little our Aunts took us to Sherwood island in Westport and all other places in Connecticut I love Connecticut. I was also with General Reinsurance in the corporate underwriting department in Stamford Connecticut in 1985.

I grew up in Greenwich. I went to North Mianus School, East Jr High, Greenwich High School. My Dad had a business there for many years. Went to St Cathrine's church. I lived on Mimosa Drive. I miss it!

I lived in the backcountry off of Riversville and spent more of my time in Armonk, NY than downtown.

I finally moved back to Westport after a few months of living in Wilton... Now I'm located by train station in Saugatuck.. Absolutely love Saugatuck.. I work on Elm Street in New Canaan. I plan to ride the train everyday hopefully soon. Saugatuck is the perfect location. I cycle almost every week over the Saugatuck bridge.. very narrow but lovely.

Nice video Charlie and great statistical analysis as well! Since living in Fairfield since 1999 and having lived in Westport as well, I can tell you that the beach areas have grown and developed just like Compo Beach! It's a great town, and we love living at the beach!

I grew up in northern weston, very peaceful and secluded. 20-30 min drive is required to go to many stores / bars so keep that in mind. The town center is expensive so usually people don’t do their weekly shopping there.

This was fun for me to watch. I grew up in Southport during the 50’s and 60’s. Surprisingly little has changed. Switzer’s drug store used to have a soda fountain where the owner, on several occasions, allowed us to make our own sundaes. Don’t know when that was removed. I spent my childhood in the Pequot Library, playing with my dingy in the harbor, swimming at the beach when the tide was high, or clamming when the tide was out. Southport was paradise for kids then; it probably still is.
