re: 4:30 Actually the idea of having keys AND a starter button is not uncommon for a 60s car. I grew up with my father's 1961 Mercedes 190 which had keys to unlock the door and to allow the starter button to work. Obviously the "Start" button in the Batmobile is just a prop, but the idea of having a key AND a start button isn't as far fetched as you guys may have thought. Sorry, I just got around to listening to episode 2 today.

Really enjoying the show, guys! re: the car phone. I remember an early 1950s episode of "The Adventures of Superman" with George Reeves where Perry White called Clark Kent at the Daily Planet from a car phone where a switchboard operator put the call through.

Thanks for watching! According to associate producer William D'Angelo, Burgess initially loved playing the part and was always calling them to ask when he was coming back. However, it was a difficult role physically for him because he had to have the monocle glued to his eye socket and he was a non smoker, so his throat was irritated constantly.

I can't understand the hate for this show. This show was very much comic accurate for the time. Remember this is Silver Age Batman. With stories like Zebra costume Batman, and time travel , and aliens. And this show actually was responsible for Barbra Gordan being Batgirl, and was a major boost in popularity for at that time passe characters The Joker, and The Penguin. The " Dark Knight" everyone loves so much really was created in 1986 with Frank Miller. As early Batman stories were more pulpish and crime noir. Thats why they brought Robin in in the first place. Believe it or not Batman wasn't a very popular character at this time. And as you guys said was almost cancelled. This show is iconic and historic. And it was very much a pop culture, and systematic critique as well. As you notice how inept, and clueless the officials are. It was an almost SNL take on comics and the real world of 1966.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. You'll find no hate for Batman '66 here. Thanks for watching!
