She was utilizing the onboard GPU which was the Intel HD 4600 but it hasn't had a driver update since 2016. I had her buy the Gigabyte GT 1030 which NVIDIA still supports with current drivers. I installed it, installed the drivers and that is where I ran into a minor issue, the adapter wasn't converting an outputting the digital to analog signal or so I thought...

    lately for some reason I've been reminiscing about my first gaming pc build before I took a 10 year break away.. It was in this case. I kinda miss the days when cases were made mostly with function in mind. Now everything's a fishbowl rgb show. I was considering going back to this case with my current build. It's nice to see that it would fit. I'm curious about those front fans. How are they mounted? I had this case with zero pc knowledge as a teenager, so I don't remember if that was a feature, or if you modded it that way.

    Why does nzxt provide intel backplate when I bother their AIO but not AMD?

    • @coryscomputerrepair
      @coryscomputerrepair Před měsícem

      When using an Intel processor with an AIO cooler, typically the stock backplate is not used. Instead, it usually comes with its own mounting hardware. However, AMD processors do use the stock backplate included with the motherboard. Therefore, it is assumed that when you switch from an Intel to an AMD motherboard, you will have purchased a new one that comes with the stock backplate thus including one with an AIO is not necessary.

    • @coryscomputerrepair
      @coryscomputerrepair Před měsícem

      Sorry about that, I did in another video with the same PC. Here is the solution: GPU & CPU Solution: To optimize the cooling of your CPU and GPU, use the "Dell Alienware Command Center" software. Navigate to FUSION/Temps and avoid using the preconfigured temperature profiles. Instead, create custom profiles. This will require some experimentation to achieve the right balance. It took me some time to configure the fans to increase speed when the CPU temperature reached a certain level and to reduce speed at another. You should set individual fan profiles for the Front, CPU, and Top fans. After configuring the case fans, download "MSI Afterburner". This program will allow you to control the GPU fans more efficiently. Once downloaded, install the program an enable custom fan profiles in the settings. You’ll need to experiment to find the optimal temperatures for the fans to increase speed on the GPU. This program works for setting custom fan profiles even if your GPU isn't MSI-branded.

      @byAnArgentinian Před 2 měsíci

      @@coryscomputerrepair no, you can see the way air moved and left debris with its flow. You should not change that flow without taking everything into account because it's not only cooling the heatsink per se

    • @coryscomputerrepair
      @coryscomputerrepair Před 2 měsíci

      @@byAnArgentinian I totally understand what you were saying, but please do not assume I didn’t take everything into account before I made changes. I am totally aware of the effects of a negative air pressure environment versus a positive air pressure environment. I know that the air exhausting out of the case on the right side, looking downward at it from the video that that negative air pressure would then cause positive air to enter the case through the vent holes on the left and across in a pattern as you are saying. The issue is it was not as effective as it should’ve been and the laptop was overheating and thermal throttling as it was reaching 95°C when the customer attempted to do anything productive such as open Google Chrome or open Word. I was also accused of removing rubber glides or plastic glides for the airflow, which I did not do what you see is how it came. I did not remove anything that was part of the laptop. I informed the customer of this design flaw in my opinion and asked if he would like me to still drill holes right above the intake fan and informed him fully of the risk of doing so and how it would break the companies intended airflow design and possibly put a thermal risk on other components because the air would no longer flow from left to right across the components within the case. The customer understood the risk but valued proper cooling to allow him to get his work done over longevity. Everyone in the comments needs to take into account I only have 60 seconds in these shorts to get my point across and hold your attention. I can’t say everything in the video that was done from start to finish nor do I always respond to comments. I disabled them on here for a while because I can’t respond to every single troll that comments and thinks and assumes I didn’t handle things properly and leaves an opinion based on an assumption. By drilling the holes with the customers approval, the fan was able to bring in cool air from outside the case thus cooling down the heatsink which in term cooled the CPU more efficiently and dropped temps under load down to 75c and the customer was extremely happy with the results and at the end of the day, with respect to you and everyone in here, THE CUSTOMER being happy is what matters, not the opinion of others on here.

    • @coryscomputerrepair
      @coryscomputerrepair Před 5 měsíci

      The fix in my video has nothing to do with power to the AIO pump. The 5th pin I was referencing is to power the RGB lights ONLY. If your AIO pump stops, you might have a bad AIO. If it was me, I would ensure the pump fan cable is plugged into the "AIO_PUMP" fan header on the motherboard and make sure you set that specific fan header in the BIOS to "PWM" mode to ensure the pump runs at its full RPM for optimal cooling. From there, I would monitor the RPMs in the BIOS and see if you get any drops or the pump completely stops. If it does, replace it.

If the speakers are large, set the sub to a lower pass, say, 80Hz or lower. The sub fills the void of the woofers.

    This is the most poorly designed mechanism I've ever seen. I've spent all day trying to get the screws out and the back plate off because I read the HP manual and that's what it says to do. Now that I understand how it REALLY works, the "cover popping" mechanism isn't giving enough lift to get a tool in there, because when I saw the cover popping initially when I was unscrewing the screws, I thought it was breaking something and I applied actually downward force on the back plate and now it barely pops anything.

    One thing I don’t mention in the video is after this video I decided to utilize the RESET SW cable coming off the case which usually connects to the motherboard but instead I plugged it into the primary RGB controller. Then the customer simply uses the reset button on their case to change the rgb light modes. You still need to go through this process in the video but instead of the mode button on the controller inside the case, you simply use the reset button on the outside front of the case. Also, I found out these rgb fans don’t survive a reboot sometimes as far as being synced and mode they are on. I had to repeat the sync process at the end of this video if I reboot sometimes as the secondary controller becomes out of sync with the primary controllers color mode.

      Because at the time, the Lian Li PW168-8PV2 Strimer Plus V2 - Power Extension Cable had not come out yet and we didn't have an option. I will tell the customer about it though now, I agree it would look good.
