    That was a great character reveal, when Osha's friends were killed, and we see her shrugging it off, and then siding with the killer. She is a psychopath. Alas, following and watching psychopaths is only interesting if they come up with nefarious schemes, but Osha was completely passive. Osha's story was touted as about emancipation, also from father-figures.But the problem is that she already charted her own path when we meet her, as she left the Jedi Order to become a mechnik. I am personally not interested in psychopathic characters I cannot at all relate with these. In all big ways, and small ways, this show was nonsensical from start to finish, and it suggests that the Jedi are evil scheming douchbags. The problem with this is that we've never seen the glorious Jedi in their prime, as promised in titles like "The Return of the Jedi". Disney capped that wing off with their Sequels, now they capped the other wing, when Jedi were always terrible, even in the High Republic era. They plan to do this, maybe with the Rey movies, but like many old time fans, I am out.

      Fair enough, but there is a lot of older movies these fight techniques are based off of, (we mention crouching tiger hidden dragon ) because they are taken from the old Japanese and Chinese film fighting techniques which represent magical powered beings with supernatural abilities to slow down time around them when they come in for landings from a fight sequence and stuff. i guess we appreciated that perspective, but i respect it is not always something that looks natural within Star Wars, thank you for also checking out our reaction much appreciated.

    You don't think that the fortress has collapsed. Due to the fact that the fire damaged the electronics and its gradual overloading and short-circuiting then caused the reactor explosion. And the oil burned similarly to the Olympic fire, which in reality burns like this even on a stone.?

  • @adriankuban2904
    @adriankuban2904 Před 6 dny

    Acolyte all-flashback episode 7 was very good. I liked the references to the hyperspace catastrophe that wiped out life on some planets; of which in the last episode Jedi master Vernestra has pain/nausea from traveling through hyperspace due to her strong connection to the force. The fact that Sol was an emotional Jedi like Dooku, Anakin and Quigon Jinn was seen in quite a big way. The turn of the plot, who is responsible for the death of the entire Clan of these Witches who follow the path of Bogan = Darkness in magic, they were quite similar to the Witches of the Sisterhood of the Night from Dathomir, where Darth Maul also comes from. The fights were great, the choreography was great and seeing two Jedi fight against a possessed Wookie Jedi was great. But most of all, normally, just like Mother Cora, I felt this emotional pain in my heart. When Sol killed her partner, co-mother of two children and the love of her life, mother Aniseya, in front of her eyes. The destruction reminded me of something similar to when the Jedi destroyed the entire planet of Korriban, where the original Sith race came from.

  • @maureec
    @maureec Před 10 dny

    Thanks for sharing your reactions guys it's always an entertaining and fun watch with y'all✌️😜 #istilllovestarwars. I think going smoke and taking Mae with her was Mother Aniseya doing their equivalent of apparating in the Potterverse. I don't think it was meant to be threatening at all it was a way of getting her daughter safely out of harm's way since Torbin and mother Korril were about to throw down. The Jedi screwed up and caused all this by breaking into the coven's home so they didn't have any justification for feeling threatened when they were committing a home invasion in the first place. And I guess technically they didn't lie as Mae DID start the fire and everyone WAS lost but they weren't linked like they implied...it was a cop out. The writing and direction was patchy but there were still really provocative themes in this episode. My most far out theory is this. Kylo Ren's theme has been played when Qimir is around and when stuff happens on Brendok. There's a Force vergence on Brendok and there was a Force vergence on Exegol. Ben Solo was thrown into the vergence on Exegol and part of him (Kylo Ren) went to Brendok in the past while part of him (Ben Solo) crawled his way out to Exegol. Kylo Ren came to know the witches and met Qimir who was drawn to the vergence there. Thus Kylo Ren was both the first and the final Ren. He was the tall hooded figure we saw at the Ascension whose face was not revealed. Qimir is a KOR and Mae was being shaped to become one. The twins have flipped though so Osha, learning that Sol killed her mother and let her blame Mae will kill him earning her KOR status by virtue of a worthy killing, while Mae will due to her empathy repent of her quest for revenge and become a moisture farmer on a desert planet 😉

    The guy in the upper left hand corner saying that mae was darker and osha was lighter in terms of being good or bad that’s not true They were children they weren’t evil or bad and as a child it’s often that kids lash out in this case mae being upset with osha but she wasn’t evil now maybe when she becane an adult that can be said but as kids it cannot People need to realize that is hasn’t been verified if there night witches they may be witches from a different place also that the Coven was not evil and when you go from that viewpoint you realize that they were just a family trying to protect there children but also there way of life- They didn’t kill anyone they didn’t hurt anyone the only time they used there powers was always in defense never in trying to kill someone After Mother Aniseya was brutally murdered by Jedi Sol wrongfully that is when the Coven fighting still in defense but also in offense so that no other person would die- You can feel how you want to feel but Jedi Sol Jedi Torbin and the wooky Jedi we’re all in the wrong Carrie Anne moss was the only one who consistently tried to understand what was going on from a higher big picture view point But those Jedi after what they did should have all been stripped of there station and immediately removed from the Jedi order and the fact that they weren’t because they kept the secret for 16 yrs shows that they were corrupt and had fallen into darkness The witches were definitely innocent the Jedi came in like child protective services and instead of actually looking at the situation Sol just immediately said they were in danger all because he wanted a Padawan if you listen to Carrie Anne moss character She states and that’s why I have a Padawan and you don’t they made that scene jump out because they wanted the viewers to realize that Sol was jealous of not having a student to teach so much so that it clouded his judgment. Yes the witches lived differently but all three of the male Jedis were jumping to quick conclusions and making their own decisions At the end of the day aniyseya had made up her mind about letting osha go with the jedis there was no need for violence When she shouted out No it was her way of trying to stop the jedis and mother Koril from fighting and before that happened Sol yet again jumped to conclusions and killed her immediately making him the bad guy and darkening his spirit Everything after that moment was just a response to the jedis killing their leader but they never were in danger the ceremony wasn’t evil and neither were any of the witches They just did things differently

      Completely agree with everything you say here, usually within the moment of reacting to what we see 10 things rush through our heads of what it could be or mean, in the moment so the reference i made to good or evil really should have been more referencing the dark side and the light side, the yin and the yang the balance of dark and light (as we see in the O n the title of the acolyte one dark moon one light moon) after all George Lucas created the force that it always needed balance as they mentioned the girls are possibly the dyad of the force. I believe there is still more to be told on all this and we might still not be getting the full picture of the girls from, this episode. but we have been enjoying the show and cant wait for the finally next week, thanks again for checking out our reaction.

      It was my least favorite moment of the episode but i read a really good interview with showrunner Leslye Headland on the details on the episode including that scene, it really was just Indara trying to save Kalnacca and not realizing how her interference would go if she cut the witches out of his head, ultimately killing them (I just wish there was some connection to how and what she was doing going in just to know it could have such effect!) placing Indara at a injustice done on her end. thanks for checking out our reaction ill be doing a roundtable thursday night which im sure we will deep dive into that question.

    We still don't have all the answers. What happened to Coral? When Sol killed Mae's mum the black stuff went into her. During the ascension she said that on her death Mae would become the leader as Ocha hadn't gone through with it. However, we now know they are the same consciousness in 2 bodies. That is why we heard Mae call Ocha's name. I really hope there is a series 2 as all these mysteries are really interesting. We still have not seen what happened to Mae at the tree. Coral must have been there.

      yes i agree, i also feel if a series 2 happens it will more likely follow Qimir and Osha and Maes story and leave the jedi arcs further behind them, i guess we shall see how ratings go on the show (I really want a season 2) and thanks for checking out our reaction.

    My guess: Qimir was also on that planet looking for the vergence. I think the explosions and destruction of the castle were not the fire, but were actually him. I'll go even further and say that Qimir ended up killing Koril before she could fully escape (I'm wondering if even the witches didn't actually die, just passed out, and Qimir tied up loose ends). We have to remember, Qimir seems to know far more about what happened with Sol and the witches than he should have if he just got secondhand information from Mae. That is assuming we take him at face value about not being able to read thoughts.

    • @BrentAgeofGrogu
      @BrentAgeofGrogu Před 12 dny

      Im going to take a guess that Mae told everything she knows to Qimir over the course of her training, my original assumption was that Qimir was also on Brendok too but it seems that that story might not be lining up with what the creators want to tell us! we have 1 episode left im sure we will find out hopefully how Qimir came into meeting Mae, and what happened to Koril. thanks for checking out out reaction, i look forward to the finally next week.

      @@BrentAgeofGroguAcolyte all-flashback episode 7 was very good.

    I enjoyed the episode a lot. I think they did a great job of making it a fault of "those Jedi," rather than "the Jedi." I think Indarra came off as sympathetic, but clearly made errors in judgment (albeit begrudgingly) that made things worse. Kelnacca was awesome and a victim of the entire thing. What will be interesting is to see the origins of Qimir's relationship with Mae (and Koral). I am guessing that he was on the planet searching for the Vergance, as well?

    • @schutzaustin
      @schutzaustin Před 12 dny

      I do think it could have been even more interesting had Kelnacca not been possessed, but rather had been following Indarra's instructions to stop Sol and Torbin from starting a conflict. I still liked it, so it's not a complaint, and I think it would have introduced a larger question about why Kelnacca would not have reported to the council. As-is, I think there was likely enough shame there, based on his body language in seeing Torbin's face, that he simply acquiesced to the plan.

    • @BrentAgeofGrogu
      @BrentAgeofGrogu Před 12 dny

      yeah i really did like the fact that Indara was true to the jedi and that the others under her (specifically Soul and Torbin) were the ones that messed up, its also painted a different picture in my mind on Sol and how Venestra will handle him in the future, i feel she might now throw Sol under the bus and he be the one who is made to be at fault for loosing his team. its so wierd been able to really like Sol, then in this episode see him in a completely different light. im not as synpathetic to him as i was in the past, I also wonder if Mae will decide to take her vengence out on Sol after all in next weeks episode! she has motive to do so after all he killed her mother. thanks for checking out our reaction.

      I have to ask, and sorry that I sound like a negative nancy, BUT: What did you enjoy?? First we didn't really get "the other side of the coin" we just got a little more.. We see that Torbin had ZERO reason to feel guilt and be more emo than Anakin and kylo, and WILLINGLY drink poison (there's also the entire problem in Torbin going from padawan, to Knight, to Master in 6 years.. While it took Obi-Wan 10-13 years "just" to go from Knight to Master. It took Mace Windu 14 years to go from Knight to Master. It took Qui Gon 24 years to go from Knight to Master...)... And we still know absolutely nothing about these witches after two Witch-specific episodes... Soo many things make zero sense in this episode🤔

    • @schutzaustin
      @schutzaustin Před 11 dny

      @Christian-el2bz I just disagree. I think if people nitpicked every show that isn't of the quality of say ... Andor, they'd find just as many things that are inconsistent. But with most of it there are at least reasonable explanations or you can choose to ignore some of it. If you don't like it, perfectly fine. Also it has been 16 years since Brendok in the show, so I'm not sure where this 6 year number keeps coming from. It looks like the girls were born in 154 BBY and the 'present day' of the show is 132 BBY. So, guessing, 10-15 years between the Brendok flashback and 'present day.' Plenty of time for Torbin to become a master - perhaps even after taking the Barash vow (also if he was about to be knighted I could see 4 or 5 years being reasonable to become a master).

      @@schutzaustin But people do nitpick every show?? But only Acolyte has been dismantled to the point that I'm 100% sure that all of the 10 writers have zero clue about Star Wars 🤷‍♂ And if I'm wrong and they do have a clue- they choose to ignore it as part of wanting to do their own thing instead of doing SW. The show is in 132 BBY (you are correct), "Master" Torbin has been meditating for 10 years as part of his Barash Vow (They even changed small details about the Barash Vow to make it fit the story... 🤷‍♂ Now that's a small thing, but when it becomes many small things that doesn't make sense - it adds up..) when he drinks the poison. That means he started meditating in 142 BBY. Brendok happened in 148 BBY where Torbin was a Padawan. That gives him exactly 6 years to have gone from Padawan, to Knight, to Master.. Which is absolutely impossible.. - Sorry but it's not reasonable at all.. And the fact that you just tried rationalize something impossible makes me wonder what else you rationalize when you stated: "But with most of it there are at least reasonable explanations" - And I'm pretty sure they only made Torbin a "master" because that makes Mae killing "masters" should seem more impressive... But it isn't because it doesn't make sennse.. It didn't make sense when he drank the poison and it makes even less sense after having watched episode 7...

Kalnacca seemed to want isolation after the events here, and might even have been plagued by withces in his head since they became trapped there instead of reentering their bodies. The Jedi are a religious order, deranged monks as the Witch said in episode 1. They don't work but have nice clean clothes to wear and make sure their hair and beards are nicely trimmed and set. Imagine the huge budget that goes into keeping all those Jedi. The Sith, there's usually only two, keep themselves and are quite cheap. The twins Osha and Mae are basically MacGuffins to the Acolyte.
