First year owner of Andersen and am struggling with all the steps. Thank you for the clear instructions and the silicone spray tip.
But what if your window is stuck all the way to the bottom??? I can’t push it down any further. I have sprained my back so many times trying to rip this window out!! Ugh

This method doesn't work for Anderson 6500 series double hung windows

👍 Amazing! Thanks for solving the dilemma of our 26 windows after first cleaning! Works like a charm. The lower sash works the same way. Andersen's customer support had no idea and their link for this problem is not complete. will not have to start a service call for the 26 windows!

Doing this also makes sure the sash lock engages. I can't tell you how many houses we inspect that are in the locked position but because the sashes rails are misaligned, these windows can still be opened. Not good security. It's like locking your front door without it being fully closed.
