This camera has gotten ridiculously expensive over the years, despite Canon releasing newer R range cameras. Canon is so greedy. But on another note, please post sample footage and pics of what you talking about so that we can see the quality for ourselves
I agree with you about the cost of this camera nowadays or any camera for that matter. I bought the R7 for about R26k but now it has skyrocketed to around R32k and furthermore, the Sony A7III has gone up too. Crazy inflation. Regarding the sample pics/footage I'll have to find the samples and compile. I'll see what I can do.

The question is, phones will replace Pro Cameras for who… exactly?😂. For Everyday users, Phones will always be Phones that happy to have a camera app. That fact that everyone has a phone the people that feel this replacement is coming is not really into the Photographer/Videographer or even paid professionals category. But this will forever be 2 separate types of users.
It was just an interesting question in general not specific to anyone. I see a lot of filmmakers making use of their smartphones even on paid work, due to the phone camera improvements, software and AI. Furthermore, in weddings some brides no longer see the need for hiring expensive photographers because of easy access to their wedding content from their friends and family. Hence it's not really a replacement but rather we see the phones being the go-to choice than pro cameras majority of the time.

Hey man. I know Budget insurance in South Africa offers camera insurance but I believe other insurance companies also provide. I'd also recommend getting a cage for your camera in order to protect in case of it failing.
