Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix - Brothel In Rosenstrasse
Michael John Moorcock (born 18 December 1939, in London) is an English writer, primarily of science fiction and fantasy, who has also published literary novels.
Moorcock has his own music project, which records under the name Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix. The first single from the band was "Starcrusier/Dodgem Dude". The first album New Worlds Fair was released in 1975. The album included a number of Hawkwind regulars in the credits. A second version of the album Roller Coaster Holiday was issued in 2004. In 2008, The Entropy Tango & Gloriana Demo Sessions was released. These were sessions for planned albums based on two of his novels: Gloriana, or The Unfulfill'd Queen, and The Entropy Tango. The albums were never completed. (The Deep Fix was the title story of an obscure collection of short stories by James Colvin published in the 1960s. The Deep Fix was also the fictional band fronted by Moorcock's character Jerry Cornelius.)

who played the lead guitar melody first - robert calvert (bugatti) or moorcock?
NOT Calvert. He wasn't on it. Brothel was MM & Pavli doing instruments, MM vocals.
Pavli worked with Calvert c. 1981 and adapted some riffs and tunes from material he'd done with MM so if he was on records by both that might explain it.
Pete Pavli. It's the same music as Bugatti, and he wrote that as well.

A staggering song and staggering album. The unfinished [barely started really] Entropy Tango and Gloriana projects could have been the finest pieces of music ever recorded of any genre if they'd been completed.. The scope and breadth of the vision of both is truly majestic

But one must remember that this band is a good example of the principal that they seem to disdain. A band makes record(s) that sell millions and so they make millions. Others that are in professions that are more important, cop, fireman, teacher that makes no money, make far less. That is the way of the world. They claim to lament it, but they write songs about how unfair it is that makes them even more money.
You are full of shit actually. Vocalist was still working as a nightguard and each album was a struggle to release due to financial problems.

What utter nonsense! Money and reward is certainly not what Martin Walkyier the composer of the great lyrics on display in this song is about and I wouldn't think that any Skyclad album garnished together any great financial rewards for any of its composers or contributors, except perhaps for bosses at some of their labels. Shame this as the wisdom in many of Mr. Walkyier's old great writings seems to become more relevant as time marches on which is such a sad reflection on a seemingly doomed society which takes a step or two forward every now and again to be followed always by some pretty unimpressive giant leaps backwards!
