Running the PMR No. 3 engine on live steam provided by a Mamod Te1a boiler. This is just a temporary mock-up to see if the boiler is sufficient to run a few small workshop tools. Flame is provided by a Bix gas burner.

extremely nice!
2 of the best !
Thank you Clinton 👍
Hi, great Mamod but is a very pity that it is closed for ever! Ciao Fabrizio - like 1
Thank you. Yes very sad that Mamod had to close down after production for 87 years.
@@modelsteam2805 I hope that some people will can go again with production, but it is only a dream!
A dream come true hopefully
@@modelsteam2805 Yes my friend!
double live steam is twice as hot
Thank you. I would like to add a third track to run another loco.
Wonderful little engines! Thank you!
!Good video, like!
Thank you Sir !
Nice movie, ciao Fabrizio - like 3
I'm guessing about 3/8 bore X 1/2 stroke and 20 psi. Ya can't beat a steamer!
It's pretty cool that we got to see Fiery Elias and Teddy bostons steamroller since those were what inspired Trevor and George from the railway series
Nice You can't beat Regner,Nice video.
Thank you for your compliment 😀
I went lol 😅
It was a great show hope you enjoyed it 🙂
Where did you get the globe valve? I need to do this to my engine, i hate the plastic valve

A nice setup. You have done a great job with the construction of the locomotive. The loco runs beautifully.
Thank you Juergen. The loco is still running in, seems to get better with each run.
An impressive layout and great display! The time you spent on carefully assembling the engine certainly paid off! Well done👍
Thank you Stew. It was an enjoyable build, really pleased how well it turned out.
Very nice, looks like it goes a nice speed too
Thank you. Love all the Regner EasyLine such quirky little locos & so well made too. Long May they continue to bring out new models. Just a shame the Guinness didn’t last.
I have one to, it's a smooth running machine!
really nice machine!
Nice engine. Like your gas burner to. Like the smoke box hatch to, but they won't sell to the US! Same as with the 30 bulb canopy.
Nice machine! Thanks for idling it down instead of seeing how fast it will go around and around on the floor!
Thank you ! This engine started off as one of the early D409 showman’s engines. I still have to fabricate a longer canopy to accommodate the extra length of the new tender. They do run extremely well once run in & all the motion has loosened up.
@@modelsteam2805 - Mine is certainly a smooth runner! I could never get my canopy lights to work and now I hear the guys in the EU are hooking up thirty LED's, but they won't sell to the US, so I guess I'll have to figure it out myself.
멋지네요... 😂😂
Looks like a rotary valve is a natural for a beam engine...
How do you check the waterlevel in the boiler?
There is no sight glass, only a water level plug used for filling the boiler to the correct level. The original spirit burner, if filled correctly & not overfilled, is designed to run out of fuel before the boiler runs out of water. However, this model has been upgraded to a gas burner, so a watchful eye is needed.
Very nice set up 👌
love the tensioner pulley @ 1:11
Thank you ! 😆
The steamvalve & the steam up through the chimney, is these somehow retrofitted ?
Nice old time, cheers Fabrizio - like 1
Love it😊
What a beautiful machine!
Many thanks for your kind comment 😀
Sweet
❤
Absolutely beautiful, it runs so smooth
Thank you ! 😊
Superb engine - very nicely made. Your own build?
Thanks for your comment. The engine is made by a company called Cotswold Heritage. Sadly, no longer in production.
Amazing little steam loco - what a design ! - Losing its cargo while it runs... a flat wagon with side boards would solve that... lovely model... thank you for sharing with us...
Thank you for your kind words. I assembled the model from a kit & documented the build on the UMAOSF if you are interested: www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/building-the-regner-guinness-tram-t121139.html
Well done it's running lovely, thanks for sharing. Like the way it delivers the barrels as it goes along too 😉
Thank you for your kind comments Graham. Hoping to pick up a few visitor wagons at the Midlands Garden Rail Exhibition Tomorrow. Great little loco, such a shame Regner have discontinued the model.
This is excellent,to watch it and admire.
Thank you for your comment. I built the engine from a kit & it always gives great pleasure when I steam it.
Nice job! The end result is superb!
Many thanks for your comment 👍
Very nice. You have me wanting to get my Accucraft "Ida" 0-4-0 locomotive out and play . Is there a differential between the drive wheels?
Thanks for your comment. No there isn’t a differential, it’s just a longer solid axle than the stock Wilesco one, to allow the extra thickness of the Mamod wheel hubs.
@@modelsteam2805 It appeared as though the drive wheels were turning at different speeds.
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Nice engine
Thank you ! 😉
wow very nice work!
Great Job you are very talented 👏
Hello Rob & thank you 👍
Very clever, I like it. Much better throttle control. Couldn't see the whistle control, not that I'd miss it.
Thank you for your comment. The whistle is non functioning.
Great show, thank you for letting us tag along Model Steam.
Cool vintage steam, these were owned by 2 types of people, careful mindful ones, and badly scarred ones.
Glad to see a fellow conasour of fine entertainment!😊 Owsum little engin . What is the base made out of ?
Thank you for your comment. Certainly a credit to its former keepers & has been well looked after over the years.
Base is made from wood.
Very cool old school toy Model Steam, thank you for showing it to us.
Thank you for your comment. Certainly a favourite engine of mine & quite remarkable how it has survived in excess of 100 years.
All brass & copper, love it!
Thanks for your comment 👍 Building the engine was a learning curve for me as it was my first attempt as silver soldering. If your interested in the build thread, it can be found here: www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/opitec-steam-engine-build-t111599.html
Very sweet running early Weeden engine. Did you add a little steam oil to the water as I think I noticed some foam at the valve?
Thanks for your comment. No, I don’t add any steam oil to the boiler, only to the piston rod & valve rod. I have an earlier model #14 with the lead weighted safety valve: czcams.com/video/vhTQg12L1eE/video.htmlsi=u7o_91Pa5Hz7wEjr
I have watched that video also. Both are very nice engines. I have one which I think is a little later model which needs the sight glass replaced. Once repaired I hope it will run as well as yours. Thanks for posting.@@modelsteam2805
Yes the later models came with a sight glass tube, first with embossed rivets & then the last type, without. Spares can be obtained from Weedensteam.com
Thank you, I plan to order the sight glass from Weeden Steam after the first of the year.@@modelsteam2805
This is very cool, thinking about bying myself one!
Thanks for your comment. You should get one they are great models to run on live steam & make a handsome showpiece as a static engine. Just be sure to replace the ageing plastic gas tank with a modern metal one, as the plastic degrades & you could end up with a fireball.
@@modelsteam2805 Duely Noted! Thanks!
You’re very welcome my friend & good luck.
What a lovely thing .Treasure .
Thanks for your comment 👍
Always wanted one .Heard they went out off business .Supposed to be a come back .Any news ?
Hello, thank you for your comment. I believe Sussex Steam went out of business a few years ago when the owner fell I’ll. i purchased this engine as a kit on eBay, they do pop up from time to time.
Ok
