Sunburst (Score Follower)
Instrumentation: Saxophone Octet (SSAATTBB)
Duration: ca. 6'
Performed by the University of Michigan Saxophone Studio:
Matthew Koester & BethAnne Kunert, soprano saxophone
Erik Anundson & Emmett Rapaport, alto saxophone
Emma Reinhart & Jonathan Hostottle, tenor saxophone
Liam Dilenschneider & Sean Meyers, baritone saxophone
Program Note: A sunburst is a geometric pattern that is characterized by multiple rays radiating outward from a single, central point. A common character in optical illusions, I find it fascinating that a 2-dimensional design pattern can seem so full of energy and movement. My goal in writing this piece was to mirror the accomplishments of the sunburst: harnessing the raw energy and power of the saxophone ensemble through sound.

Performed by Rebecca Epstein-Boley I. Particle II. Wave Program Note: The word "duality" refers to having a nature that is twofold. In physics, light is said to be a duality because in some situations, it behaves like a particle, yet in others, its behavior is more wave-like. I was inspired to write a piece for the french horn that mirrors this concept because the instrument has a unique abilit...

"Ignite" captures this sudden burst of energy, the strange calm that happens immediately after the tiny explosion, and the dance-like motions of a fragile flame. Great work. My ensemble found Lua Azul really interesting, will there be a score follower for that as well?
Reminds me of this. czcams.com/video/ztb6c7Y_XmM/video.htmlsi=hOqDooLJ2QvZwSVt Same idea but with jazz.
That person is so creative! Mixing the sound of a fire alarm with piano playing! Cool!
A "fire alarm duet" is an alarm duet that is related to fire. The correct spelling is "fire-alarm duet". Hyphens haven't been abolished from English.
Bravo!!!! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 When is this coming to spotify?
Beautiful played!
Yeah i like your skills but should you get out of there? BECAUSE THE BUILDING IS ON FIRE
My son is autistic and obsessed with fire alarms and music. I am not lying when I say this is the only thing he’ll fall asleep too EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT..pretty sure our neighbors hate us. But he loves this so we do too lol ❤

The second part, playing a piano in flames.
This feels like being in a hospital in a TV show
Bro's low on HP - *this song starts playing in sync with beeping heart sound*
What is the name of the song ?
Nathan Fielder approves
Somewhere in the parking lot of this very building, a college professor and a security guard were freaking out about a missing pianist after roll call.
Sounds like it's from a movie where the girl the main character loved just died in the hospital and he's moping to me
I know it's been 5 years but can you please do the song without the alarm? The alarm gets annoying halfway through the video and I think your song sounds way better without it.
The long dark type vibes
This is wonderful! Well done!
how? pull the fire alarm? lol
This is Hans Zimmer levels of incredible.
Well mate instead of playing piano with a fire alarm why don’t you evacuate
I forgot I put this on my piano playlist. I was falling asleep to piano music and about had a heart attack when this video played.

OMG, I CANT IMAGINE THIS NOT BEING IN A MOVIE!
The alarm is so loud it’s sidechaining your piano
Just close your eyes and imagine the beautifully sad movie scene 🥲❤
"And this is how I got on fire"
The fire alarm is trying to tell you how fire your music is
"guys come on we have to evacuate!" "Wait- whats that beautiful melody..?"
