Seems good for faster runners

how does the foam hold up on gravel terrain ? since the entire bottom of the show does not have rubber protection ..

How did it do on the dirt. I have a mild non technical trail marathon coming up in 6 weeks and am debating between the Hyperion max 2 or the caldera 7.

Do you think this could be a marathon shoe?

Hope they are at least half as good as you say. Opted to give these a try for shorter daily runs and reps as I have got frustrated waiting for the lack of any update on the UK release of the Topo Specter 2. Really needed to add some new shoes to my rotation and should receive these along with the Sky Paris this week.

I loved the 13 had a good heel strike toe roll to them, 14 felt a bit more mid foot, 15 didnt even bother as they falttened the toe rocker. 16 brough back the toe rocker but lowered the drop so still a bit mid-footy. They might work for my heel strike if i can slice up a piece of PEBA and stick it under the insole.

Noosas are Sooooooooo UGLY w/ their colorways.

MOST shoes are way comfier on the dirt trails.

I am Noosa 15. I find the drop a bit low... No feeling of low or negative drop?

Bought a pair, thanks to your first review. I did 10 miles at 10min/mile straight out of the box. Brilliant shoes for my GNR in 4 weeks. Size 13UK 14US 49EU. I am 6'4" tall and 95kgs weight. Ideal for a big guy.

I did not have T21 or T20 in the past. But i like my T22 after ES2😂

I've currently got the Hyperion Max with around 50 miles on and they're getting better with every run. I often run up the FOD myself but I've never tried with it these shoes (use my trailfly Ultra G 280 for that). I heard if you want that max feel you're better off with the standard Hyperion 2 than the Max 2?

How wide-foot friendly are these?

It’s plated but with nylon like the Endorphin Speed and Takumi Sen with its rods. So while stiff, still less so than those with a carbon plate--isn’t that the case?

Great review, are they a bit wider in the Metatarsal area then V1? I found V1 a bit long and narrow in the Metatarsal area.?

For me weight shouldn’t matter in the shoe as much as the ride. The prime x strung 2 is heavy but the ride is so good. Same with this shoe.

Does anyone know where you can buy laces like this separately? I'd love to pop some in my other trainers that come with sub-standard laces.

Hi Andy, it looks like Hyperion 2 (non-Max) is now the improved version (added stack, improved foam) of Hyperion Max 1 which you liked. You might consider that as your non-plated shoe.

A size up would do a better job...i think?!

I sometimes use Run619 insoles that are 3mm to get some extra space. They're relatively cheap and can be a game changer!

Interesting, I think Adidas have fluked the 2 blends of foam for the sl2, the feel/cushioning does feel great but the other parts of the shoe, insole, laces and lack of depth are below par. I ripped mine out last night too, haven't tested them yet as I'm playing around with the superblast 2.

do you pronate (under, over)? the issue with some other known runners on youtube, it lacks stability. It will not even support your landing if you pronate.

The sl2 very comfortable but too squishy for me.

I tried taking the insoles out of some Bostons few years ago for similar sizing reasons. Felt rather odd and I gave up on that. And yeah running on the strobel is why shoes come with insoles !

No way I'm making that much effort to get a shoe to fit me properly.

I get you on the non plated front , I did my intervals today in the rebel v4 (and before that I had the topo cyclone 02 .. before that Adios 6 ) . so regardless of what other shoes I own I always have an all rounder non plated in the garage.

The SL2 fits me really nice but the Mach 6 irritates the calluses on the outside of my feet so I prefer the SL2. I think a comfortable fit makes a big difference. I'd like to try the Hyperion 2 (not Max) as well because the Hyperion Max v1 is such a fun, comfortable shoe.

So not much volume upront. Do they make you pronate a bit?

Blister! Nooooooo! I droned on a bit in the comments after your first video on these and I do feel able to pick up the pace in these but we're on different plains with our approaches to training! I will push myself to run some k's in longer runs at goal pace using them for sure. Sidenote: was that Lee hammering past as you wrapped up?

Great stuff Andy :) My brother loves the SL2's but yeah the grip looks poor... Wonder why they don't have continental rubber outsoles? Had to say goodbye to my Novablast 3's today... 800KM in 12 months with them as my easy day shoe and they have finally been recycled. Have a pair of Superblast 2's in my office ready for tomorrow. First time trying them and can't wait to see if all the hype is real. Good luck in your race on sunday.

TYR Valkrie Speedworks seems to be based on Endorphin Speed 2. If you get a chance to review them (and have your size) that would be great. I don't know if you reached out to TYR for Valkrie Speedworks and Elite Carbon model shoes. They are 5mm drop shoes like Mach 6 but otherwise very similar to older Speed 2 design.

Keep going back and forth between picking these up or the Mach 6s

I had a similar experience with the Hoka Mach X. I hated the shoe out of the box and would only use it every once in a while. After about 70ish miles it feels like a different shoe and I actually find myself wanting to use it more. Maybe it's because I'm fitter and can load the plate better.... 😂

Ah I found just the same for one of my recent videos.

I use it as a daily trainer. I also won’t run in carbons. I really like it. I wish it was more responsive with a lower stack height.

Great review Andy, i love the 2's, very nimble and fast on sessions. I found the 3's a bit less racey feeling, still good, but less pop and slower turnover. Ive yet to try the 4's, hoping they arent worse than the 3's?

I prefer the rebel v4 (have a wide foot) , but speeds are a dependable shoe.

for a big guy like me Ultra Boost were rhe first really soft shoe before Nimbus and Truimph and Hoka, and all the rest copycats.. now i am more of Nimbus Kayana Truimph guy

I’ve been running in the Saucony speed 3 and don’t love it. I feel like it is slappy and not propulsive. Im a 3:15 marathoner don’t want to run my next marathon in a carbon shoe because of some stability issues and have been looking at this as an option. How do you think it compares to the Speed 3?
