Terrible trigger pull adjusted as light as possible.
I called the savage company and they sent me a new one. The new one is good.
Put the magazine in rear end first then push the front end in and the mag should fit tighter and function right.
Yep. That seems to be the solution, although it’s weird. The mag doesn’t seem like it should have to go in that way… but it’s definitely tighter. Almost hard to remove… haven’t range tested it, but i will.
The part of the bolt that picks up cartridges is called "stripper rail".
Hi. I have found out a 100%fix for this problem. I just took som tape and placed it on both sides of the lock lever on the magazine. For me i had to put 4 strips of glassfibre tape on each side to get rid of all sloppines. Now the mag sits all the way up in the mag well and does not move at all. Hope this was for any help to you guys.
I’m buying a Chevy coupe this weekend hopefully. If you buy the panels can you put ford coupe panels on it?

So I’ll put it this way because I don’t know the answer 100% but I have a 34 Ford Coupe body but I have the 37 Chevy fenders front and rear.
@@aarongenske2887 so I found out from the race team I bought mine from, the chassis is the exact same for either Chevy or ford style body. Either coupe style body can go on the coupe frame, but the sedan frame needs the sedan bodies for obvious length reasons. But the body is literally just the shape. You can use either or “brand” style as long as the body matches the frame (coupe/sedan)

File the mag down to change the angle of how it feeds and that should bring it up too
Watch the video, when you pulled the bolt back and released it, you didnt pull the bolt all the way back. I purchased a used A17, only ftf I had was when I accidentally put my hand under the mag and pushed up
My a17 Savage works great I've only had one malfunction in the last year due to me shooting it too fast but you definitely have to keep it clean for it to function properly and use the a17 bullet rounds work the best😊
Did you clean the factory grease and oil before firing it?
#1 your lug for your bolt is not lubricated .
I have 2 A17's. One with a synthetic stock and the other, like yours, with a Boyds stock. The synthetic never had any issues feeding and firing everytime while the Boyds was just as frustrating as yours is. After many attempts to fix the Boyds over a couple of years I finally got the idea to compare the holes in which the magazine sits. Found the Boyds was longer then the synthetic one by 1/8". I JB welded 2 plastic pads to each side of the magazine catch to compensate for the 1/8" difference and guess what... works like a charm!
Well that is interesting. You glued a strip directly to the wood on either side of the wire spring catch? Any issues removing the mag with the reduced play?
@@fiveoboy01 Not at all, I believe boyds had the wrong measurement in their CNC when they cut the opening . The magazine should not be moving much when inserted, in my case the mag was pretty wobbly before I added the 2 pieces of plastic, now it barely moves. Once i depress the catch mag comes right out. It also clicks when it's inserted. You can try with some folded paper strips to see it your have the same issue.

@@dandinca5330 just for clarification. The strips are attached to either side of the catch on the magazine itself, or inside the magwell? Gonna fiddle with it tomorrow.

I bought an a17 for my daughter--had the same issue--I sent it back to savage. They replaced magazine. Works ok now. Still have little faith in the gun

I don't want to blame ammo but I was shooting mine with CCI 20gr. And it was flawless.. but as soon as I started using Hornady 17gr. My feeding issues started and some won't even fire.. weird I've seen good reviews on the latter

My new A17 never cycled a new round on the first clip and to pry out 4 rounds. Doesn't savage test fire , I know Henry does? This gun is going back .

@@fiveoboy01 easy fix just did mine couple days ago..on back of magazine file the bottom edge of the little triangle that sits on wire. Do a little bit at the time till magazine fits tight.
@@ncfishkiller having a hard time seeing how that will make it fit tighter, from what I'm looking at it, that would make it fit more loosely.

it is the magazine...where the round sits, the gap is to small...I opened it up with a small flat file...evenly take off to have 5 millimeters ...The round will sit higher and it will fit better in the feeder and be under less pressure...I bought a new mag and did the same to it...fixed the problem..im no gun smith ,but i am a heavy haulage engineer and i had a go...success..i am in New Zealand....all the very best
You're talking about the mag lips I assume? Hadn't thought to try that. May be easier than trying to do any cutting on the stock...

make sure you put the front of the mag in first,then click the rear up into the spring hold

I just bought a new a17 and the mag fits in tighter than any of my other rifles. Hopefully I won't have a similar issue. I work on all of my own firearms in many ways, if I where you I would torque that bolt that holds the mag locking plate on a little if you don't get help from savage. That or you could shave the wood under the plate down a hair. From my experience you can put a bit of pressure on a laminate stock like that and it should compress. That should lock the mag in a little higher and tighter. Take my advise at your own risk, cheers.
Yeah. All possibilities. I had originally made the video to send to my friend and it was too big to send via text, so I uploaded it here. I do have a service request into Savage, I explained the issue and linked them to the video too. It’s been well over a week with no reply, so I guess I’ll keep waiting. I could fiddle with the stock but for now I’m just going to see what Savage says.

They just seem to make so much sense after racing a few different types of classes . I can't wait to find one. Very affordable , lots of local tracks for me , lots of room inside the car for bigger guys etc I like them alot .

Just ordered the same EXACT kit and tune for my 2020 GT this past week! Is that the quiet or heritage gears? Also, any issues...still running good?
This is the “quiet” gearset. Runs fine, I’ve got about 4000 miles on the setup now. Searching for a little more so might go to E85 soon and possibly a JPC turbo 400 setup. MT82 kind of sucks with a blower.

@@xhemy_yt took me about 8 hours. I’m also a mechanic with a ton of tools, which helps. But, I think the average person with mechanical aptitude should be able to get it done in a couple days at the most.

That's not a runway it's a bloody sidewalk! Narrow as hell plus a surface like a rollercoaster.
The dip in the middle of the runway is a bit sucky. I always try to land short, it's harder to land on it when it's falling away from you!
