This bike has only 668km on the clock from new, we bought it to use on a motocross track/field. But we have not found a suitable track and the bike is to good to strip down and use in this way.

So you CAN run blue lights and sirens as a blood biker, providing you have done a course that permits it?
A bad example of the valued work done by bloodbikes. Disregard for traffic laws as no exemptions allowed. Would like to know the riders background as in riding experience and his training in the use of blues and twos. Highly doubt he’s a serving or retired police motorcyclist as he would know he had no exemptions.
How can you ride like this braking the law ? Your not allowed to run red lights ,your BLOOD not emergency service and to end it you both park in a disabled car park 😂
The vehicles are not classed as emergency vehicles so can not have blue lights and sirens either.
A very professional, safe blue light run! Well done.
how me and the boys ride on a casual Friday night, but without the lights and sirens
As this seems to have resurfaced www.npcc.police.uk/SysSiteAssets/media/downloads/publications/disclosure-logs/operations-coordination-committee/2023/102-2023-explanation-of-current-legislation-re-blood-bikes.pdf
The standard of riding seems generally good, the only issue is speed, Blood Bikes I believe it has been agreed with the NBBA will not exceed the speed limit, as with NHS Blood vehicles you have no exemption to speed limits, you clearly try to you caution but do creep up over 30 limits 36 at one point, on the multi lane in nation speed gets up to 80/81. Do I agree with the limits on a blood bikes I may not but uploading this to youtube could backfire
But are not allowed through any red lights or anything or use speed wtf is the point
Wrong but okay.
Good ride but didn’t think NBB could go through red lights
They have no exemptions to traffic lights and signs, they are not classed as emergency vehicles, regulations 3, 37(5) and 99 of the road vehicle (construction and use) regulations 1989 does not allow for blood vehicles be it vans cars or bikes to be fitted with lights or sirens. I’m a retired NHS paramedic, if you claim any of the exemptions and you cause an accident then you will need to be able to justify your actions whether it’s your fault or not. Delivery of blood, tissues or breast milk is not an emergency. Ps I was involved in a serious RTA which was not my fault whilst on a 999, I was arrested and read my rights, investigated and exonerated of blame. Very stressful to say the least.
@@jimjoelliejack not worth the risk
Why don’t you change the tones according to the hazards so inconsistent, one of the slowest blue light runs in history. Why bother
Parking bike in handicapped = complete ass.
What type of camera do you use, and how is it mounted to your helmet?
This is slower than my ride into work at London rush hour...
you'd be lost without your tom tom. great ride, and thanks for keeping us safe.
Nice to see. My BB refresher this weekend. Brushing up before Saturday.
This is all about Advanced Motorcycling , and it's impressive . I'm not a bike person .
Blues went off when you got on motorway yet continuously went 80mph up to 85mph, always thought 70 was the limit,
Exempt from the speed limit...
@@Jonesykinsthere is no exemption from the speed limit nor going rough red lights which he did several times.

And the rider didnt move his head once :)
?
And then you both parked in a disability parking spot. Good ride though and yes I am disabled, retired and still have my bike licence. 1100cc bike just sat in the garage, life really sucks at times.
Thank you. This has made me think may be I can do it. It appears to be observation and thinking ahead - always having a plan. Impressed with the smoothness. Very inspirational.
Any advanced riding works on those principles.
Yes, you can clearly see how good and natural you are at this. Great drive.
Sometimes I ask myself why 22% volume in my headset feels like 100% or so. I might be very sensitive to sudden sounds like sirens or overreacting 😊
That was stressful watching, let alone riding.
Must be a challenge to restrain the feeling of power , potentaly avalable , when everyone moves out of your way ?
Not nitpicking, but... who's kidding, I *am* nitpicking. 1. Damp roads and you are consistently riding down the "dry line" in the centre of the lane. That's because all the oil and dirt and tyre particles collect there and repel water. Never ride there, always in the wheel track either side. Not just you, a lot do it. 2. 1:37 you turn off the siren before passing a stationary bus - you'd never see a passenger getting off and running out from in front of it. Should have had siren on and be dominating in the opposing lane, not just edging over the line, while also checking the oncoming car for a react.
Your a bellend.

So slow... Really gay moto driver...
Did the other rider-instructor park in a disabled bay?
Can blood bikers go above speed limits or run through red lights?
Yes
No, they have no exemptions
@@maxwheatley4214 some of them do
@@boxfullofneutral8514 some of them say they do the law does not allow them. Some trusts grade calls and so the riders risk prosecution. I am not aware of a test case for blood bikers speeding and contravening red lights etc. It needs sorting but there have been cases of some charity bikers grading calls for pjs to be transferred as to hospital and bikers grade 1 everything.
An almost faultless ride, spoiled only by parking in a disabled parking space, a let down
Great job
Domino pizza boys travel faster. 😁
Pathetic use of blue lights. I guess some people don't realise that you're not a police officer. Your organization should be forced to remove their blues from all vehicles, you can't even ride properly yet you're trying to escort a vehicle through heavy traffic? Absolute disgrace.
As blood bikers they are advanced blue light riders and the chances are they were given a licence by the local police to do this. As well as delivering blood and organs they do marshalling and escorts for special events like this.
@@jackboggis270 As blood bikers the VAST majority do NOT hold ANY blue light qualifications. The ONLY blood vehicles permit to run on blues are the national blood service - and you'll see them once in a blue moon on blues. There is no such 'license' to escort vehicles on blue lights. It is illegal. Only official escorts using amber lights or police vehicles using blue lights are permitted to control traffic for the purpose of escorting a vehicle.
@@tibgaming8184 That is not fullu true and for blood bikers to have lights and sirens fitted to their bike they must show their competence in the form of a blue light qualification.
@@jackboggis270 Yes, exactly as I said, very, very few bikera have such a qualification, and again, even if they do, unless they work for the national blood service, they can't use them :)
@@tibgaming8184 you clearly didnt read what I said. *Some* blood bikers are qualified either through blood bikes or their main career (ambulance, police, fire, coastguard etc.) I'm not saying that the use of blue lights on public roads is legal but if you dont know the complete circumstances here (if the rider is qualified or if there was any permission) don't comment about them. If you have a real problem message the rider or contact the police!
Both idiots. Making a racket on empty streets. Where was the emergency. None. Then park on handicap areas. Morons.
You are aware to be able to legally use the equipment you have to be trained on them right? I bet you call 999 to complain when the helicopter is out too don't you?
Do blood bikes have the right to break speed limits? Genuine question.
No, The journeys they do are urgent, not emergency. The use of blue lights and sirens is for emergencies so in theory BBs using them could in fact be breaking the law.
yes they can if indeed its an emergency blood request they can use the lights and sirens giving them the same powers as any other emergency vehicle. I believe the reason they were not speeding in this clip is because by the looks of it is a refresher course for one of the riders.
A Blood Bike fits into this category. They are permitted to exceed the speed limit and treat red lights as a give way f on an emergency call. In this case it was deemed an emergency by the Hospital.
@@MrHotshot1995 Completely wrong, sorry !
@@ttfox0 not wrong at all your welcome to Google it
Did I just see a civi blood bike rider put his wah wahs on and go through traffic lights on red causing other traffic to remain at the lights now on green to enable him to ride through them. Is that lawfully allowed and if so where is the legislation that enables it to be done please advise. It also appears that he has flashing lights going on, also maybe blue ones? Passing the front car on the approach to a pedestrian crossing also ?????? who are these guys wannabe police officers. Obviously exceeding the 30 mph urban speed limits. If this was a taxi taking bloods would they be favourably looked upon driving round towns in this manner. I think not!
''where is the legislation that enables it to be done please advise.'' Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 ''also maybe blue ones?'' Yes? ''If this was a taxi taking bloods '' Well it's not a taxi so wind it in a bit. They're blood bikes.
i didnt think blood bikers were allowed to break the law ( speeding ) ( red lights ) or ride with blue lights on.
Blood bikers cannot break the law in any way. However, there is dispensation to use blue lights and sirens in emergency circumstances.
J D ah I stand corrected when I done my rospa the guy said they couldn’t Iv just applied
@@leeack9660 Most places do have a policy of not using them. Good luck :)
Blood Bikers aren't allowed to break the road laws. They have no special rights to go through red lights or speed. They also have no right to pass on the right side of a 'stay left' sign. Which is interesting since right at the very start of this video, he went through a red light..!
And again at 16:12...
What was the point of this, was it just for a joy ride or to just waste fuel,.
George Lee. The point of this is the rider is being looked at to see if his riding is up to the required standard that he can use blue lights & siren and is above all safe in doing so. If you look into the mirrors of the bike you'll see they're being followed be another bike that's the person who makes the decision.
Great ride officer, only the best will do.
Booooooooooooooooringgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg...
When we all fall ashleep, where do we go?
As long as you are not riding that bike at the time...
Thank you to all the blood bikers.. you lot are doing a excellent job.. ❤
Does the siren hurt your ears as you're sitting right on top of it?
I wear ear plugs to dull the sound
And parking in a disabled bay.
You are rights, if you know the area, there is 10 bays, none of them used, not an excuse, but wanted to be out of the way of the ambulances, stayed on the bikes for 5 mins debrief and vacated a busy A&E.
Great video from a very different view. But turn the sound 100% off and listen to Spotify while your watching this!
Roadcraft demonstrated beautifully!! Awesome video guys, thanks for sharing!
Fair play to cop he did a great job.
He is a blood bikers. Still an advanced blue light rider that most likely had permission from the police to do this
Well I definitely thought he was pro. I was watching it thinking 'this is really good to watch', 'he's moving naturally. As you should'. It wasn't until I looked at the title that I realised this was a training exercise. I was prompted by the return to base. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comments, been riding for 30 years, fire fighter for 8 years and been blue light trained by the Fire service and Police.
1:12 instant fail, you don't have legal exemptions to treat red lights as a give way, poor show of riding abilities
Correct blood bikers have no exemptions for speed limits, red lights or keep left bollards fact
Steven kiel Regulation 36 gives the meanings of signals, including red, and also sets out which organisations are exempt under certain circumstances. For completeness it’s fire and rescue, ambulance, bomb and explosive disposal, national blood service, police, Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and special forces. The exemption only applies when they’re on an emergency call.
@@randomchannel5386 Thanks for the reply mate. I am aware of the regs however the title says "NWBB" which correct if I'm wrong is North West Blood Bikes. Individual blood bike charities do not have any exemptions under these regs or the road traffic act, they are not the same as the National Blood Service who have their own liveried vehicles and as you say do have very limited exemptions which are pretty much only extend to treating red traffic signals as give way, no speed limit or contravening keep left and right bollards etc
Steven kiel didn’t realise that, maybe these guys have gotten an exemption somehow
@@randomchannel5386 No worries pal, Without saying how, I just know they don't and never have! Although I am also a CRO with HM Coastguard and they have the same as us, simply bluelight use to aid progress nothing more, my full time occupation well that's very different :-)
