Back in 2015, friend of the Moss family Adrienne Hopkins put together some words that looked as though they could form a song. I contacted local musician Carl Newton who put together this demo. The project stalled, but having heard of Ernie's death, this song needed to be heard by a wider audience. Enjoy. Phil Tooley

Less than six months after the final game at Saltergate, the old Chesterfield FC Stadium was crumbling. The Community Trust was still using the pitch, but by October 27th 2010, the day I took these images, the fabric of the old place was crumbling daily.

Newt and Charlie Last completed a four hour static cycle ride in Chesterfield Tesco on May 9th 2014 to raise funds for Chesterfield FC Memorial Garden. They raised £261.62. www.justgiving.com/memorial-garden

Took sum photos on cross st half way though demolishion, I climbed a fence 2 take them, still not got rd 2 having em developed 2 this day lol
So so sad hard to believe some of the epic games that took place here …. 69/70 that epic tussle with Aston Villa …. The Arthur Cox & Frank Barlow era when these guys very very nearly got us to the second division … saltergate our spiritual home …. Now a bloody housing estate for fatcats …. Tragic 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 RIP RECREATION GROUND , SALTERGATE 🙏🙏
