Cow Pot to Fall Pot, and getting stuck!

Trip down Cow Pot and the spectacular Fall Pot pitch into the main drain. The narrow 'slot' at the bottom of the first pitch is difficult and getting back up it is very strenuous, as you will see

Looks the same as 38 years ago
Traverse rigging looks like a series of R2R or Umbrella manoeuvres; seems unorthodox. Horses for courses. I'm a fan of horizontal traverse rigging rather than a sequence of big loops. Takes all sorts.
They are multiple rebelay points (as per rigging topo), hence the loops to aid descent. It is not a fixed continuous traverse line
@@undergroundadventure2000 thanks for the clarification. The camera angle makes it look horizontal but your description makes perfect sense.
Epic
😀Brilliant! No dynamic music, well shot with no swinging, I could feel it and smell it just like I was there. Again brilliant.
A bit wet then.
In america its known as a big ass pit
That slot is really not easy! I’m 6’6” and can only just get my legs into right position to push with a lot of thought!! 😂
Always look forward to your excellent underground adventures! 👍👍
Incredible and thank you. Has the sump ever been dove? Any reason it’s so foamy?
Brilliant, Love your vids, No pussyfooting just getting on with it .
Great to see you guys back - I'll send a link to my bro (former Hyperion CC Stockport). How deep are the pitches in sequence?
Cracking trip. Great SRT and the big pitch is magnificent.
Need to use alpine butterfly knots rather than a cross loaded figure eights at pitch heads as they are stronger knot and can be used that way, some nice footage though 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. All y hang pitch heads were rigged with alpine butterflies for that very reason. Only the back-up at the start of a pitch had a figure of eight.
We used F8s for thirty years underground as they are more annoying after being under load. These days I just use Gaffer Tape🤗
I went caving here with my sister back in 2014! Was also my first time cavediving! Great trip! Those are some of my fondest memories with her! Love you Alena! Rest in peace 💖
And Underground Spooky.
Awesome! Many thanks for such an atmospheric film.
That looks like a tough one!
Great film 👍
That's very cool footage 😎 👍
(it looks the same as it did 10 years ago) well I suppose it would. Do YOU?
i didn't realize this was a real place
Ashamed to say I became hypothermic at bottom of first waterfall in 1994, and two of us had to be hauled out by CRO. 6 hours of hell! The water was roaring and it was November. I recall being in the 4x4 ambulance afterwards and CRO knocked on window, asking "Did you have any mates down there?" "Yes, 1 friend and 2 CRO". "Bugger" came the reply. "We've derigged the cave" All 3 survived. The first CRO to arrive brought me back to consciousness with terrible halitosis!!!
There’s no place to escape the water at the bottom of the first pitch. In winter it’s freezing!
Wow this is so cool
Was that a through trip?
No, couldn't get down to the sump. The water coming down from Diccan was immense - anyone trying to do Diccan would have drowned!
I am doing a series of 4 half-hour videos about the history of Cave Rescue in the UK. There is no budget. I am doing no filming (I am 84 and living in Thailand), but friends are doing interviews for me in the UK. I am telling in film four about the death of CRO member Dave Adamson on a rescue in Rowten on the traverse in flood. I would like to use about 30 secs of your video to compliment Jack Pickups account. Would that be OK. I will make no money from this project, but it may be used to raise money for Cave Rescue.
Of course. I've read the report on the tragic death. Happy to help out.
@@undergroundadventure2000 Many thanks
Worth waiting for! 👍👍👍👍👍
Brought back memories of training trips with the CPC back in the early 1990's getting ready for the Gouffre Berger trip that summer.
Another good video which got better towards the end with better/steadier shots of the pot during ascent. Definitely worth subscribing and the wait since your last 😎
I’m pretty sure it was dry in the final 200’ pitch.
It’s a long time since I descended this! 1977?
Another excellent vid 😎
Looks the same as 25yrs ago. One of the best adventures ever done
Another superb video. My elder brother always used to tell me about the glories of Lost John's - a classic Yorkshire trip underground. I've never had the bottle to do caving but your vids are the best I've seen for giving armchair cavers like me a real taste of what it's all about. Love the fact there's no irritating music. More please lads! Excellent 😎🇬🇧😎
I couldn't agree more! I love hearing the real sounds of the cave and the conversations between cavers instead of some crappy music. Great video!
Thank you for the comment. Will hopefully be putting some more trips on soon.
Brilliant trip with an atmospheric final chamber where the water emerges.
Great video!!
Astonishing that thus far I'm the only subscriber! Top quality lads - well done 😎

A fantastic trip, rigging the big pitch is truly awesome.
