I am one of those that struggle with too much tension in the grip, arms, etc. There are times when i find a good rhythm that is relaxed, but structured. I cant seem tot maintain that feeling, and fall back to the tense swing that pulls the club handle past the ball. Really awful with the driver, my irons are pretty good. 5 strokes of my 15 handicap are all in the driver strikes. Its so unbelievably frustrating. will continue the easy swing journey and hope it sticks

Golf is so hard. Keep the left arm straight, keep your right arm tucked in, bow your wrist,weight 60/40 on your lead side etc. Thank you for a clear explanation sir👏

Forced and exaggerated positions are warranted during practice particularly for major swing changes. Sone things don't just happen automatically with a smooth swing only approach. But yes, put all of that away on the course and swing freely with what you have at that time.

I have just discovered the Easiest swing in the last month. I am 67 who used to play off 6 handicap. Prior to finding this channel I found myself trying to muscle it to the distances I used to hit especially with the driver and I was very erratic and scoring regularly in the high 80's. It completely ruined my game and I was on the brink of packing golf up in frustration. Since buying a swing caddy 3 weeks ago and adopting these easy swing methods and devouring all the videos you guys have put out, I have hit scores of 78,76, 77, and 73. and am not walking off the course tired and frustrated. I have also discovered these methods work with short pitch, bunker and chip shots. I want to thank this channel for bringing back my joy for golf. Ray ( England )

How do you keep low point 1 foot behind the ball and not hit the ground. I feel like I need to squat, use hips, to generate power, and this just leads to hitting the ground, otherwise I'm just stood tall with straight legs and no power.

Recently new subscriber here (66 years old), and I must admit I have never heard of swinging in time with the golf club. Can you explain this more thoroughly for me or point me to some resources where I might peruse the subject? Thank you. I'm looking forward to developing my own easiest swing.

It’s funny how we, as golfers conceptualize what we are trying to do when we swing. That in itself is a big issue with the average golfer. What is it that we are trying to do? The old saying of “just swing the club and let the ball get in the way” is really more important than all those so-called experts on YT are willing to tell you because they want you to sign up for their program. Not saying that they are evil because they believe in what they’re teaching. KISS, keep it simple, stupid. I love what you are doing with the easiest swing Phillip. As I’ve been on my 40 year golf journey, I’ve learned that less so is more. My hope for all those struggling golfers out there is that they find someone like easiest golf.

What I like about Nicklaus's swing is that he's got the straightest line between the left shoulder and the clubhead at impact. This is the position that takes the fullest advantage of the self-squaring property of the club. If a player has a really strong grip and a big forward shaft lean at impact he's using some other method to square the clubface.

Great video. And it works, just let the club flow free and then standing up in that finished position, that really helps. Only one problem though, I release the club head to early (flip over), so the ball will go left every time. Maybe I don't rotate quick enough.

Excellent point about lag Phil which was substantiated by Brian Sparks! As a senior, I really don't look for lag positions in my swing. I do try for 1/2, 3/4, and full shots however when the need calls for it. Always find something informative in your videos Phil. Keep up the good work.

To help with hitting up on the ball, after picking out my target, I just look above this target and focus on a higher target, like a cloud. If the sky is clear, I still just focus on hitting my ball above my target on the ground.

For the slower swings, I use Annika Sorenstam's driver swing thought, "Swing 60%". I think about having "nice, soft hands" to feel the club head weight, with a golf hold (grip) of 2-3 on a scale of 10!

No, Never Lift the Left foot on back swing. Completely wrong! Sorry. Rather ensure stance no more than shoulder length & adjust ball position for driver down to iron.

Interesting video. In stopping and starting the video, you appear to do what I've seen some older golfers do. Bent and low lead arm, little shoulder turn, hands hands relatively close to your body....semingly breaking a lot of lot driving rules. However, I have noticed the swing arc, although smaller than someone with a more classic driver swing, generates a lot of whip on the club leading to distances that frequently outdrive my drives....and they're 5-10 years older than me!! Thanks for video...very interesting to watch.

So I get what you are saying, but still unsure of how you suggest to relax and slow down the club from the top of the backswing. It can't simply be a matter of doing a gazillion swings on the driving range o/w I'd be already doing this. Thanks for your video.

Interesting concept, slowing down the lower half. My image is of walking speed, where the legs set the pace of the swing and the arms then swing in unison.

I have just finished reading your excellent book, ''The Easiest Swing In Golf ' ' on 1/8/2024. Your brother, Brian, would have been delighted with the great advice & updating of the easiest swing. I expected to make a few pages of practical suggestions to improve my game. I was surprised to complete 20 sides of handwritten notes on vital teaching suggestions. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS NOW MAKE SURE I FOLLOW ALL OF YOUR ADVICE. As a retired teacher I have summarised many books , but your book will give average golfers numerous, practical & easy to follow ways to get better. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK WHICH I REALLY APPRECIATE. I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THE BOOK. IT NEEDS TO BE READ SLOWLY TO ASSIMILATE A LOT OF IDEAS. Alan Goudie age 81 years.

Great advice, slowing everything down makes for a much more fluid swing, body action...everything looks smooth and a great rhythm.

What also makes sense to me here is that by having the ball near your back foot there is no need for weight transfer because your weight naturally goes forward on the follow through because of the down slope. I will definately be trying this. Will also be trying it on downslope chip shots.

Ever notice how incredible your practice swings feel? Try hitting the ball with that same swing. It is incredible how far and straight the ball flys. Been working on this all summer. Every club.

Only starten golf at 69 years old. Lessons have made me totally fixated on all the do's and don'ts. Will have to let go but still lack the confidence.

As a senior golfer, this looks like it would be great to use. I agree with you; I haven't heard a lot of instructors/pros mention the finish. Thanks - going to work on these drills to improve and relax into the game more.
