    Hey, noticed there are no Head rotation third person offset setting as well as there isnt a sprint offset setting in the new tutorial series as opposed to your old multiplayer fps tutorial. Are those no longer present?

      The head rotation has been played around with a little bit. I got a solution working that works in first and third person but lose those changes. It was simple logic in the anim graph to do but is on the todo list. The sprinting offset is replaced by the new pose system. Basically you would create a sprint pose just like you would a high port/low port pose and go to/from it based on your velocity.

    This looks very well made. I have two questions...How would this work with duel wielding? Does it come with an animBP for a "just arms" skel mesh?

      I have not tried/tested duel wielding. The animbp for a just arms mesh would just have the upper/lower body split removed from it as it uses the ue manny by default

    do I understand correctly that if we have 3 players (ABC) and players A and B do not see each other, and player C sees both A and B, then replication of A and B will be disabled for everyone? (or enabled if the processing of the code of pawn C is performed later than the code of A and B?) is it possible to disable replication of A for B player only and not for C?

      I cant remember how I showed it in the video, but basically you would perform this in the IsNetRelevantFor function as that performs the player A relevant to player B logic

    great guides man. one question only, in target build platforms, how do we test our plugin for consoles? they aren't present on the whitelisted platforms, and I cannot build to either xbox or PS in the unreal editor.

    Hey man, I'm trying to set up a simple True Fps camera and you’re obviously really knowledgeable on the subject so I figured I'd just shoot my shoot and ask. How do you go about removing the headbob caused by your idle and running animations when running this sort of setup? Do you stabilize the camera socket? And if that is the case, how do you avoid the camera clipping into the player’s head on certain movements?

      So theres a few ways. One is enabling UseControlRotation for the camera which stops the bulk of it. if its a small amount of movement something I've done on a suggestion from someone was attach the camera to the capsule, then interpolate it to the camera socket with a dynamic interpolation speed so the further the camera is from the socket the faster it interpolates. This cut out a ton of it but in first person view if you have a bunch of movement affecting the hands it doesnt prevent that. The other route is in the anim graph, mask out (blend mask and layered blend per bone) the pelvis from the locomotion.

Just to clarify in regards to masking out the pelvis, do you mean that, for example, when the character is moving forward you'd set the blend mask on just the pelvis to 1.0 and then set the blend pose to be your idle animation?

      Then you didnt download the demo, you downloaded the example project which requires the plugin to function. Thats not a demo its for having a premade project with examples on using the plugin

    Awesome series. Question regarding security: how would I go about restricting the kinds of API calls that clients and dedicated servers can make? For example, I want the server to have authentication to Add/Modify/Delete via the API but I only want clients to have authentication to get the server list via the API. They way you have it set up here, if someone were to de-compile and get the API address they could just go in and add or remove server info.

    Using Unreal 5.3, I spent an entire weekend trying to learn this by myself; after many attempts that work, but cause harmless crashes to the engine, I found this method which works flawlessly. Thanks for sharing!

    Obviously the errors I get with my project are different. I don't see how a tutorial like this is useful unless I had those exact errors, it's not like you show people how to troubleshoot this.

      Its called reading the errors and fixing them with some googling or by already knowing. Unless its a linker error its typically self explanitory

      @@SneakyKittyGameDev The errors listed with their descriptions grant me no insight to the problem coming from a background with zero coding experience. Code E0070 is apparently an incomplete type that's not allowed. Says I need to "include the header file of one class in the implementation file of the other." This means nothing to me. By telling someone to use the internet you might as well be saying to learn to code.

    You need to do a better showcase of your asset looks like a AAA quality but your videos and demo are hard to tell if it has what I need or not. Like a better showcase of all features and content in your asset in one video will help you sale more.

      Agreed entirely. I've been struggling trying to figure out a good way of actually creating a showcase to cover as much as possible. I think the current demo was a bad choice in trying to make it a small little game

      @@AraAleluYahuah I'm kind of leaning towards a booth style showcase where each booth has a focus on a category. For example have a booth dedicated to procedurals with the firearm so the same firearm but with a few vastly different setups of procedurals such as sway/lag/recoil. Then one for procedural spine, one for the attachment system, night vision, optics, etc. Does that sound good?

    4 years late but I have a question. When setting the child of during animation does it keep that child of after all is said and done like if I went into pose mode it will be there when not in animation tab? If it does, then can't I just set those child of before animating and set the influence etc? Just a thought I mean either way doesn't matter I guess really.

    How about entire classes? Like Gamemode, a lot of server logic runs on Gamemode, can I strip it entirely from a client build?

      Yes you can, but you would do the inside of the class and probably the entire .cpp file

      @@kuufox3625 Yes, ensure stuff is done server side such as spawning the firearm and that the firearm is set to replicate. Following typical Unreal Engine replication practices is sufficient as the plugin works the same as most the stuff in the engine. I plan to record more this week, Ive just been away for the weekend
