Taurus TH40 Review
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 2 měsíci
Today I'm reviewing one of Taurus USA's lesser known pistols, the TH40. The TH40 is part of the TH-family of guns, which includes the TH9, the TH45, and the TH10. All of these are polymer framed DA/SA semi-automatic pistols.
Taurus 82 Revolver: The 10,000 Round Taurus

Sit right there and let me tell you a story of the Taurus 82, the 10000 round Taurus. Over the course of about a year I shot 10,006 rounds through this simple, plain Jane 38 Special revolver with zero failures of any type. The gun is a tank and I love it.
Hornady Critical Defense 410 Review
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed 4 měsíci
In this video, we're taking a look at the Hornady Critical Defense 410 bore defensive load. This round features a .40 caliber slug over two buckshot projectiles. In previous tests I've seen this round have devastating terminal effects in ballistic gelatin, but all the damage in the world doesn't matter if the rounds don't hit the target. So how well does the Hornady Critical Defense 410 pattern...
32 Magnum Ballistics Test
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed 5 měsíci
With both Taurus and Lipseys/S&W dropping 327/32 caliber revolvers at SHOT Show, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit this video about 32 Magnum terminal ballistics. This was the test that made me a true believer in 32 Magnum. For reference, I filmed this long before I took my current job with Taurus USA, and performed the relevant tests with a Ruger 327 Fed Mag LCR (which I still have ...
New: The Taurus Expedition Bolt Action Rifle
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 5 měsíci
Meet the Expedition, new from Taurus. Taurus' first ever bolt action rifle, available in 308 Winchester with other calibers coming soon, is built from the ground up with hunters in mind. It's already been tested in the fields of South Dakota, the plains of Africa, and endurance tested with thousands of rounds, while still maintaining sub-MOA accuracy.

Is Crossdraw Good for Concealed Carry?
A- or B+, a C is crazy
As someone who has been in numerous gun fights the one factor that is important to me is having enough ammo. I have seen all kinds of wounds from many different calibers and when talking about handguns the major calibers like 9mm, 357, 40, 45, 10mm will all work in most situations. So what do I carry? I carry a 57x28. It has range, acceptable power, relatively light recoil, reliability, and most of all 22 rounds in a standard mag. Battles have been lost for lack of ammo. The Siege of Jadotville is a classic example. Ukraine is a current example. In Korea running out of ammo was a common issue with American GI's grabbing North Korean arms from dead soldiers and using those. The bottom line is that the best carry gun is the gun you have when it is needed. I do agree that the 25, 32 and 22 are not first choice for a carry gun but in the zombie apocalypse I would rather have a 22 with 1000 rounds of ammo than an AR15 with 200 rounds of ammo. Both are the same weight but the 22 can be used in both a pistol and a rifle. Yes, the 22 is not a zombie stopper but with good placement it might slow them down enough so that the other zombies will attack him.
Yes.
K but u wrong tho
I would say you are too dismissive of budget friendly revolvers. The big three also produce lemons (increasingly so in recent years) and their customer service isn't what it used to be. I also wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the SA revolver either. A Single Seven is quite concealable and there is nothing safer than a SA. As far as reload speed if you find that seven shots is not enough to settle a matter (rare) then pull your backup gun. Yes it is wise to have a backup anyway. Difficult to fire? Hardly all of us have fired our DA/SA revolvers SA and most find it easier. Off hand thumb cock is not at all difficult to learn. Are they "optimal" for going into a war zone? Probably not but for normal civilian situations they are not as bad as many make them out to be.
I agree I was too dismissive of budget revolvers when I made this video 5 years ago
@@MrRevolver Happens to all of us brother. I do miss my Model 36.
Thanks
I just bought one this past march 2024 love the gun shoots well ,a tank thanks for the video
I love Critical Defense.
Great Analysis. A+ Best TH40 review ever.
I’m guessing you went to public school with those math skills. Jk
My question is how long are your thumbs😂. Everyone with access to their revolver go ahead and do it your thumb ain't long enough😂
can i get one for free? 👉🏻👈🏻😅
That’s interesting, but why a red dot on a bolt gun?
why not?
@@MrRevolver Good point 😂
Can you clean the gun to see how much residue it leaves
You are not my real dad nor my fake dad...you could be my lost little brother, or my crazy cousin who spends 500 bullets in 40 minutes to test the reliability of a cz python
Only thing I’ll say is these guns are so small n my hands are so average size lol
Thanks - I was wondering what .45 colt load you like ....
Were all 10k rounds of that ammo 158gr LRN? Do 125-132gr FMJ hit point of aim?
130gr FMJ hits low, which is normal with guns that are regulated for 158gr LRN. I shot a bunch of different ammo types out of it, but mostly 158gr from various companies.
No matter how we carry someone is going to cry, criticize and complain no matter what you carry including arm chair quarter back what everyone has done wrong. My thing is f**k them haha!
"Unique to the Critical Defense 410, the 41 caliber FTX slug actually engages the gun's rifling and contacts the target nose-on, enabling the patented Hornady Flex Tip technology to assist in expansion for greatly enhanced terminal performance." Does your shockwave barrel have rifling? It would make a difference to test this particular ammunition in a rifled barrel to be a fair comparison.
Glad to see decent penetration from mini mags, had even worse feeding issues with punch in my M&P 22 Compact. I run the punch in my 942 UL where it makes a lot more sense. The 942 doesn't crack mini mag primers for some reason, rock solid with punch for carry and CCI Standard Velocity LRN for practice.
Wrong. The point is that we need to know how well it performs in a 2 inch barrel. Your test is mute.
You mean “moot” 🤣
"Get a 32 or 38, not a 357" "357 snubbies are pointless" "I appendix carry" 🤡 😂
Yes, definitely follow all of the advice above that's taken from experts like Chuck Haggard, Darryl Bolke, and Wayne Dobbs. I mean you don't know who those guys are, so you're not really equipped to have this conversation.
@@MrRevolver And a smug, arrogant clown at that.
I'm smug because I'm right. You don't get to become an instructor at the Revolver Roundup at Gunsite without being right about some stuff, my guy. But you wouldn't know, because you've never been to Gunsite, you don't train, and if Chuck Haggard, one of the smartest people I know, walked up to you and told you to carry a 32 Magnum you'd mock him because you're ignorant. You're a fool, and I already regret wasting 30 seconds of my life on you.
Why would you say something so controversial yet true?
Im not your real dad was sneaky funny
This is satire right?
This dip shirt is back again
Never left I was at your mom’s house. I’m your new stepdad
@MrRevolver wow you used a joke that has been used countless times and everyone knows. So intelligent and original.
What can I say, I like the classics. I drink PBR, carry a revolver, hunt with a lever action, and make jokes about banging people's moms. Your mom says hi, by the way.
Love revolvers
me too!
A real hunter uses triple action…or a traditional weapon duhhhhhh
Ignorance is bliss….sometimes I imagine myself as an ignorant narcissist inauthentic corporate beta male😂 then I thank God he reminds me daily of my utter failure as a human…and encourages me to be authentic and do better..live truth and be realistic…the guys and gals out there killing pope and young…actually any life that provides sustenance on any land with homemade self bows are laughing right now…wake up brother the ego is the enemy!!!! We love you all the same, but we ain’t playing no narrative or 🐂 💩
You need to rethink your comment about shooting single action. Oh wait you aren’t thinking. Nevermind
Why rely on the crutch that is a aimpoint.
Exactly….God gave you all you need … why use the crutch known as a brain
An optic is an enabler, not a crutch.
Anyone know if the th40c will fit a Th9c holster?
Quite arrogant. Load development and sighting in require single action precision, if you care about the end result. No matter how shit hot of a shot you think you are.
I shot an inch and a half group double action later in this video. Sounds like a skill issue
@@MrRevolverlmfao no way you liked your own comment
Nope, since I’m an admin I can see that. But anyway can you shoot a sub 2-inch group at 25 yards? Post up homie
@MrRevolver and yo white ass is calling me homie? This dude funny asf he think he's a hot shot and he thinks he's a homie.
I am in fact a hot shot, and a homie. I'd say "see you on the range" but you don't train
I dabbled in a bit of LR comp shooting over here in Australia, for those who have never shot guns before first watching this. When shooting long range the bullet doesn’t always go where the crosshairs sit (assuming you have it sighted in right). Depending on wind your bullet can be up to a foot from where you expect it to land and if you have multiple wind channels it can even force your bullet up or down from where you have your sight sighted into. I never shot 1km before but I have shot 700 and 500 meters and I can say the difference between 500 and 700 is like driving a car to driving a semi-truck, similar but oh so different at the same time. Idk the terrain that this guy was on but it is very rare to have a full 1km range with no wind at all let alone avoiding multiple wind channels. Hope this helps explain things to others :)
Mr. Revolver wasn't the " 3 inch penetrator" your nickname in high school??
Your mom likes it
@@MrRevolver That's original!
Well I figured since you were going to lead with an absolutely inane comment, I’d respond with something on your intellectual level

Hello, I also have an MR73 with Trausch grips. I got the safari land comp 3 and Hks 10 as speed loader and they are perfectly fine. I don't do competitions. Do you think the Safariland comp 2 for K-frame can also be fine?
Yes it will be
Thanks!
I just finished watching Paul Harrell's rebuttal video again after several years. It took me about ten seconds to see why the closing of that video was so well-applied to you, a man without honor.
"A man without honor" But you're sure concerned about a years old internet argument between two complete strangers. I'd be more worried about my priorities if I was you, my guy. I hope you have the day you deserve
Wow, 57k subs - there are a lot of stupid people in the world. You work for Taurus shouldn't you name be MrShittyRevolver?
Look at the sensitive little boy
@@MrRevolver You replied, are you talking about yourself?
I’m not the one who’s upset about a stranger on the internet, kid. You should probably take a hard look at yourself in the mirror
@@MrRevolver I'm not upset at all. I'm just busting your balls because I think you're irrelevant in this space and I have nothing better to do. And, I remember when you went after a guy that truly knows more about revolvers that you ever will know to the point that the backlash made you close your last channel and change your name. The fact that you are engaging with me being a troll shows how weak you really are.
Or I’m just bored because it’s a lazy Saturday afternoon. And thanks, btw. I assumed you were just another mindless, fatherless Paulbot, but sometimes it’s nice to get confirmation. I hope you have the day you deserve
A documentary about depth of bullet penetration, but no measurement of penetration--just guesstimating. Odd approach to research.
Great video. Im hoping to do something similar with my RP63. I want to see how many 357 mag rounds it will take. I just hit 500 a couple days ago. Its going to take a while, I can only handle 100 rounds per range trip, haha.
I like the gun a lot. Ive been waiting on the 4 inch model for awhile in fact I prefer the 4 inch over the 6 inch Rossi and its finally here so I am happy. I like how they dont have the security lock on them which I very much dislike on all the S&Ws now. Just say no to hillary hole!
Clears leather much faster and very comfortable when sitting or riding a motorcycle lol.
Great vid , and I love the achievements on your wall 🫡
Those were the mainstay of US securtiy companies and many state and local LE for decades. Very good gun for a fair price.
In your honest opinion if bullets are flying back at you in a gun fight do you honestly believe that you finger would not pull a 2nd or 3rd time from hyped nerves before you tap rack like at the range? If you say yes I will believe you .... maybe.....Now other guns without this feature are now incomplete to me (newish gun owner here G2c G3 lovem) I want the shirt.
Shirt's available on shoptaurus.com and if you use my code MRREVOLVER25 you get 25% off As far as your actual question goes, I think that comes down to an individual's level of training. If they've trained over and over again to tap-rack, I think that's what their brain will default to
@@MrRevolver fair enough ...
Is Taurus coming out with raging judge executive grade with 3 inch barrel?
Years ago I remember a channel called gun nuts media, I tried looking for old videos and couldn’t find any. Is this the same person?
Yes, I discontinued that name because it had run its course. I haven't used any "Gun Nuts" related branding in nearly five years
