My CX-50 has this too, but honestly I like it without a touchscreen. I feel like reaching across the dash while driving is a horrible idea, and the dial gives more focus on the road. Dicking around with your infotainment while driving is a bad idea anyway but I wouldn't want to extend my arm that far if I had to.
