    You should have drilled Out bOth of the hOles in order to gain the extra clearance that was required there, plus you also needed to clear out both threads in the bar too in the dovetail bar in order to remove the threads from the hOles as having two adjoining threaded holes one in the dovetail plus the one that you are screwing into means that you can not lock the two pieces together as the threads will not align properly, for when you thread the locking bolts through they will not engage and pull tight, that is a pretty basic fundamental mistake people whom have a lack of training & do not possess the required knowledge in the field of precision or basic mechanical engineering often make. Getting a job done correctly takes a gOOd deal of skill so to get things right the first time takes real skill.

    I have one that failed--heats up when you hold it down manually, but doesn't stay down. Contacts in good condition--sprayed DeOxit. Didn't work. And they still spark, too. It has one of those front panels with LEDs and pushbuttons on a board, and it's dead. Cleaned the pin connector. Still dead. Could be a failed solder connection on the board, but nothing visible and no way to diagnose. You added a screw at the end, but you didn't explain how it fixed it. Also, is it safe to continue to use a toaster that still sparks?

    • @daslab68
      @daslab68 Před 3 měsíci

      So... It is an electro magnet that KEEPS it held down. See if that is working. The screw was missing. that is sort of why the entire thing was loose and not aligned. So I only replaced a screw. I didn't add an extra. As far a sparking goes. That is normal. And Yes I still use mine. It still sparks and makes great toast. Good Luck.

    AHA! Lol, I had cleaned every crack and crevice like you did. I loved sticking my head in the dryer, using a huge BBQ spatula to keep the small "doors open", looking in with the flashlight. PS. I found that one of the dryer "fins" is a great place to place the flashlight. Point to the back and that inner world lights up. I could feel the danged thing banging on something. The closest I got was by moving the lint trap forward/backward while inserting it. Still a gap. Mine is poor cutting of the plastic but same result. I turned the dryer on for a while (with steam) and once the hard plastic was hot, I stuck some tool handles in to make the opening larger. So far, so good. I wouldn't doubt that it happens again so I have players at the ready. THANK YOU very much!!! I wasn't keen on setting my house on fire. ;)

    Put it partially under the bed where you can’t hear the noise and tape a thin stick vertically to the ON/OFF button. Use another loose loop of tape under the mattress to support the stick. I have a Peavy Minx110 with the red stripe. It has an extremely loud buzz when plugging into the preamp input. Turning the volume down still had a loud buzz and forcefully rotating the volume left against where its stops manipulates the buzzing volume. The buzzing lowers some as you put left rotating pressure. There is no noise when plugging into the effects return and using the power amp. I have taken it apart and blown it out with an air compressor and contact cleaner to no avail. Is there a known issue that results in this? It played fine for many years.

    • @daslab68
      @daslab68 Před 7 měsíci

      Hi, My guess would be old Electrolytic Capacitors if it buzzes constantly. But if it is only when plugging in, then there could be some bad grounding somewhere. Bad Cable, or bad connector on the guitar itself. Some good contact cleaner may help. Both for the pots and the connectors. Good luck. (Try a different patch cord first)
