Welcome to the freaky realm of the DASLAB. At DASLAB we have fun learning and diving into food preparation, tips and tricks, Machine and electronics repairs of all kinds, experiments, investigations, science concepts, music, inventions and general observations about the world around us. We try and learn something along the way and have a few laughs. You neve know what is going to be new. You never know what is going to go right or wrong, but that is half the fun. That is why we often say "WTF" at the DASLAB . "Wow, That's Fun" or "Why's That Flying" or "Where's The Funnel?". Keep an ear open for the WTF and let us know what you found in the comments.

Laughing my ass off here. Happened to run across this while playing in shead [removing blade, trying to figure out why blade moves left to right ] on cheap ozito drop saw. It's winter here so brandy not beer. Thanks champ. Was fun to listen to you while I'm doing similar thing.
that makes me happy. Thank you.
Gröhhhhhll...
My thoughts exactly.
Thanks so much! This was driving me crazy. Could find no lint or other blockage. Everything looked nice. This turned out to be the same issue. Dryer is almost nine years old as of 2024. So assume after awhile the heat warps the plastic.
I have helped many people with this vid. I am so glad I made it.
Great video liked the bas tard screws & the k nife !
Haha, you gotta have fun!!!
Mmmm. Like the Nighthawk. CB750SC?
What chemical do you use
wintergreen oil and isopropyl alcohol. Smells nice, Don't drink it.
Thank you for posting this. I am able to use a wide blade flathead screw driver to move the back screen enough to get the filter in.
Look at the chip
Error is "insufficient power applied" Recap the M/B.
You should have drilled Out bOth of the hOles in order to gain the extra clearance that was required there, plus you also needed to clear out both threads in the bar too in the dovetail bar in order to remove the threads from the hOles as having two adjoining threaded holes one in the dovetail plus the one that you are screwing into means that you can not lock the two pieces together as the threads will not align properly, for when you thread the locking bolts through they will not engage and pull tight, that is a pretty basic fundamental mistake people whom have a lack of training & do not possess the required knowledge in the field of precision or basic mechanical engineering often make. Getting a job done correctly takes a gOOd deal of skill so to get things right the first time takes real skill.
I agree. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It will help others.
You're amazing! It worked! Thankyou
I am so happy I could help
Mine is stuck flashing red at “high” heat setting. After 5 years of daily use, it finally gave out. I was hoping you can help me fix it 😅
This indeed worked for me as well. Thank you 👍
Great to hear!
Thanks so much! It was driving me crazy!
Glad it helped!
Good helpful video, ...don't listen to these morons. How long did they stay flexible? I tried a heat gun, but they harden up in about 5 minutes.
Honestly it stayed soft for a few weeks. I had to put these carbs on and off a few times. A heat gun does help, but when you use one, it wroks fast and stays really really soft.
Mine started doing this 😒 going to wait till the next time I have to rip it apart. Appreciate the video!
Glad I could help
I have one that failed--heats up when you hold it down manually, but doesn't stay down. Contacts in good condition--sprayed DeOxit. Didn't work. And they still spark, too. It has one of those front panels with LEDs and pushbuttons on a board, and it's dead. Cleaned the pin connector. Still dead. Could be a failed solder connection on the board, but nothing visible and no way to diagnose. You added a screw at the end, but you didn't explain how it fixed it. Also, is it safe to continue to use a toaster that still sparks?
So... It is an electro magnet that KEEPS it held down. See if that is working. The screw was missing. that is sort of why the entire thing was loose and not aligned. So I only replaced a screw. I didn't add an extra. As far a sparking goes. That is normal. And Yes I still use mine. It still sparks and makes great toast. Good Luck.
thanks for the video. i am thinking of getting this lift
I love it, I have had no real issues with it. I use the foot pump most of the time. and always use the safety bar.
Mine failed with the flashing F. I bought another identical one and ohmed it out. 68 ohms across the outer pins, 38 ohms across the inner two pins.
good information
Congratulations to you, because watching this video gave me the courage to dismantle mine, which was a gift from my father. Congratulations!!!P.S. I speak of Brazil, although I have Canadian citizenship
Way to go, you have to be brave some times and just go for it!

You have an uncanny knack for stating the obvious! thanks for stopping by. What is the name of your channel?
Waste! Waste of the viewers' time, and maybe yours, for a few pieces of scrap. Your lovely drawing notwithstanding, replacing the diode would have turned this from zilch to a bonanza in so many ways.
Thank you! Cheers! What is your channels name? Perhaps I can learn something from you?
Bought three this dec because same damn problem contacted sunbeam..niw i have to pay big mailing to send unreal
yeah. quality is just not there.
That screw in the front is BS. Why would they do that?
Haha, Well Said! what were they thinking!
This doesn't even qualify as a teardown; I guess it could be called a "Rip-It"! Try this on a fullsize heating blanket and you'd have to call it a "sheet-y" disassembly! 😉😁
Haha, yes
Definitely not buying these, ive had 3 in 3 months and they all fault out
Yes they have a limited lifespan, especially if they are folded or rolled up.
Mine lasted 5 years of daily use. Walgreens brand. But it was luck cuz the other Walgreens brand I had before lasted less than a year 😅
what is the p/n and source for the replacement bearing?
Sorry I dont have that information re the PN, I live near Oshawa Ontario, I went to Oshawa Bearing with the old one and they had no problem getting me a replacement.
a magnetic dip stick is a must on these , The amount of metal they collect is astounding , much better than flowing around in there like sandpaper
good point.
Obviously you don't own a Honda yourself.
I own a Honda eu2000i with 2500 hours on it. I’ve changed the oil every 100 hours. How long does the timing belt last?
Good question. this was not my generator, and it was WELLL used. and there are lots of other videos on this belt issue. even though you are good at changing the oil, I am not sure that will make the belt last much longer. It will probably help a bit. keep up the good work.
AHA! Lol, I had cleaned every crack and crevice like you did. I loved sticking my head in the dryer, using a huge BBQ spatula to keep the small "doors open", looking in with the flashlight. PS. I found that one of the dryer "fins" is a great place to place the flashlight. Point to the back and that inner world lights up. I could feel the danged thing banging on something. The closest I got was by moving the lint trap forward/backward while inserting it. Still a gap. Mine is poor cutting of the plastic but same result. I turned the dryer on for a while (with steam) and once the hard plastic was hot, I stuck some tool handles in to make the opening larger. So far, so good. I wouldn't doubt that it happens again so I have players at the ready. THANK YOU very much!!! I wasn't keen on setting my house on fire. ;)
Great info there. It was so simple, yet so hard. I cant believe how many people have this same issue.
Thank you for saving me so much time and trouble. My husband is also thankful😊 Brilliant share! ❤
Happy to help! really. lots of people have this same issue,
I put my lent trap in flipped (with the writing backwards) and I can't pull it back out.. What a crazy design 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I know, this is a big problem. I cant believe that I was drilling holes in my machine!
😢😢😢😢😢
Yep
4 pin "Ic" might be an optocoupler
You are probably right on that one. thanks
The first fail I wouldn't trust it. But I would probably do the same too
Yeah.
OMG!! was that copper-based anti-seize you used?? I sure hope not, as copper and aluminum together in the presence of saltwater creates galvanic corrosion. Use Tef-Gel or an aluminum-aproved anti-seize instead.
This is a fresh water application. The jury is still out on Copper/Aluminum never seize. Thanks for stopping by.
for tapping the metal retaining cap back on, seems like a crescent wrench tightened loosely would be better than channies. I would be hard-pressed not to squeeze the channies and thereby score the shaft. Thanks for the video, this is next on my list.
Yeah I got kind of sloppy there. Should use the right tool for the job.
OMG Thanks. I was ready to take the housing out until you pointed out the bent-inward part near the opening. Now I just jam a flathead screwdriver between the filter and housing when I'm replacing the filter so that it doesn't get hung up. Not the best "fix", but it works.
Glad it helped! Hard to believe it was so hard to figure out eh? Well you've go it now!
Great video! I came up with an alternative repair. Cut 2x4, 6 inches long, pried apart opening, pushed in 2x4, left overnight. The lint trap fit!! Thanks to your video, gave me the idea.
Nice work! Nest time make a video! You ca be a star :)
Stupid idea to use a belt unstead a timing chain. Embarrassing for Honda.
Yeah, since this is such a common problem. I wonder if they fixed it on newer models?
@@daslab68I purchased a comparable Hyundai HY 2000. 20 kg, very quiet, 1600 watts (max 2000), starts always on the first pull, even a little display for the running time. With a timing chain, and for just 400 unstead 1800 Euro 😊
I have a pad thats good and a controller thats not. We could make 1 good one
Yeah, frankinpad!
Having same frustration with heating pad, knew more than I did. Thanks for the video.
Glad it helped
Put it partially under the bed where you can’t hear the noise and tape a thin stick vertically to the ON/OFF button. Use another loose loop of tape under the mattress to support the stick. Then you can very easily turn it on and off at the edge of your mattress without reaching to the nightstand.
Yeah, I like the steampunk visual I get when I think of that!
CCR fan on the piano. Interesting video.👍👍 Hows the Nighthawk?
Its fun being me. Nighthawk is getting better, more videos to come soon.
just had to man-nipple-late-it
Thank you sir 🫡 where to drill was exactly what i was looking for
Glad I could help.
Did it work, i was wondering if you put the red and black 2 wire connector from pump 4 board on the right terminal
Yep Worked like a charm. The guy uses it almost every day.
I have a Peavy Minx110 with the red stripe. It has an extremely loud buzz when plugging into the preamp input. Turning the volume down still had a loud buzz and forcefully rotating the volume left against where its stops manipulates the buzzing volume. The buzzing lowers some as you put left rotating pressure. There is no noise when plugging into the effects return and using the power amp. I have taken it apart and blown it out with an air compressor and contact cleaner to no avail. Is there a known issue that results in this? It played fine for many years.
Hi, My guess would be old Electrolytic Capacitors if it buzzes constantly. But if it is only when plugging in, then there could be some bad grounding somewhere. Bad Cable, or bad connector on the guitar itself. Some good contact cleaner may help. Both for the pots and the connectors. Good luck. (Try a different patch cord first)
Thermal paste with finger,I stopped watching there.Don't make any more videos, pls
