    I bet it was Mcleach who killed Bambi's mother. Many think it was Gaston or Amos Slade, but Gaston lived in France and that doe that appears at the beginning of the film was just an Easter egg, Bambi clearly takes place in the USA due to its fauna. As for Amos, even though he lives in the USA, there are two inconsistencies that prevent him from killing Bambi's mother. The first is that we didn't hear any dogs at the time of Bambi's mother's death, and as we know, Amos always hunts alongside his dogs Chief and Copper. Second, the sound of Amos' rifle shot was harsher while the sound of the shot that hit Bambi's mother was thicker (which fits with the sound of Mcleach's rifle shot). Percival Mcleach is clearly an American rather than Australian, and he showed several clues about this throughout the film, two of which are his accent (rip George C. Scott) and his "cover" of the song "Home on the Range" which It's an American song. This all implies that Mcleach was born in the USA and spent some years there, also hunting and in one of these hunts, Bambi's mother was the target. Another clue that corroborates Mcleach is the fact that he does not have hunting dogs, which explains their absence in the death of bambi's mother. As for Joanna, he acquired her on Australian soil. Perhaps, the death of Bambi's mother was what made Mcleach flee to Australia, as it is illegal to hunt does with their young. Escaping from arrest in the USA, Mcleach ended up in Australia where he insisted on continuing to do illegal things, becoming a poacher. If you pay attention, the fur rug that is under Mcleach's chair in his hideout has a similar color to that of Bambi's mother (it is true that it is a little dark, but this could be due to the low light in the room or that the color hair has faded). Another fur rug that catches my attention is a huge one in the middle of the hiding room. This fur rug is big, brown and furry, meaning it has to be a grizzly bear, and there are clearly no bears in Australia.

    Profit wise the film brought in $23,336794 million in 1986 then it had one much poor re release in 1997 only earning an additional $13,288,756 dollars.on a budget of 14 million so not that big of a success storey probably not enough to make up for the loss from black cauldron the year prior which Disney disowned but then later released on vhs.

Think of how doctor claw was done in the original inspector gadget cartoon way back in the 1990s. However the fan love for Sherlock was so passionate Sir Author ended up continuing the storey and had Sherlock be alive for a few more additional short stories that Sir Author had not original plan to write.

    There's not much point in trying to apply real world life expectancies to Disney animals. I mean, mice don't live too long, either, and it's clearly implied at the beginning that Bernard and Bianca have had an active career in the RAS that spans at LEAST several years, if not more - if you're going by actual mouse biology, I'm pretty sure they'd be either geriatric or plain ol' dead by that point. I generally just assume that anthropomorphic animals have roughly human lifespans and leave it at that; otherwise, a WHOLE lot of media doesn't make a lot of sense and, frankly, isn't much fun.

On a lighter note, I also enjoyed the nosedive part when Wilbur was trying to takeoff during the snowstorm. This may be why Disney hardly creates cartoon villans. If this movie was even moderately successful, Percival C. McLeach would have been God's gift to child therapy, just two steps under "Pokemon Shock". Sheer Khan and Scar were only animals. It's the human villans form Disney animation that can be the most terrifiying.

    @10:00 I can’t help but think McLeach has aimed his gun at Joanna before, given how we’ve seen their dynamic. He never actually shot at her, but she doesn’t want to trust that he wouldn’t. Also, it’s not shown but I can’t help but think Cody told the authorities where McLeach’s hideout was so that they could be let loose.

      I didn’t mind him just cause in the end, he was a decent loser if you will(also admittedly I always loved kangaroo rats), but Bernard and Bianca themselves just have so much magical chemistry to them you ABSOLUTELY feel his jealousy warning alarms going on and you want the timid guy to actually pop the question. In particular. I like that Bernard basically does what Jake said about looking the pig square in the eye and telling it who’s boss, cause it just feels crazy satisfying.

  • @battybuddy
    @battybuddy Před 8 dny

    lol. I don’t get how you would think the original was the sequel given that part of the deal with Down Under was Bernard’s attempting to get the guts to propose to Bianca, when in the original he’s not even an actual member of the rescue society- he’s kind of the janitor.

    ever noticed how Madame Medusa from the first Rescuers and McLeach from the sequel have so many parallels to each other? - they both have large predatory reptiles as henchmen. - they both kidnap a little kid to use their skills and small size to get what they want, and plan to dispose of them afterwards. - they both have hideouts in long-abandoned manmade structures out in the middle of nowhere. -they both are after MASSIVE ammounts of money by chasing after incredibly rare, one-of-a-kind items/animals that will never be found again. - they both drive loud, destructive, heavily-customized slapdash vehicles animated in styles other than hand-drawn. (though McLeach's rig is MUCH bigger.) - and finally, they both meet their gruesome demise in a large body of water featuring multiple crocodiles. STRANGE, ISN'T IT?

    • @battybuddy
      @battybuddy Před 8 dny

      Well, McLeach wanted Cody for his knowledge on where the bird was, rather then size or skill, and Medusa we don’t actually know if the crocs really killed her or if they were still considering her their master and were just angry at that moment, but otherwise, yes- good point.

    When you compared this sequel to it's original film, it's like night and day. Down Under looks and feels like a high quality disney film while The original was more on the safe side. You can tell Disney was in a rough period when they almost made the villian identical to *cough* cruella *cough* along with having TV budget animation/character's eyes not drawn properly. Mccleach is a monstrous villian done a lot better.
