When Dave phoned his wife he had to walk a mile down the road with 10p until he found a phone box. 😂😂😂
the glory days of MX proper tracks not made using 50 excavators and jumps where riders are going int space. im an old romantic who raced on stuff like that
E.Geboers.please.rest.in.peace Same.age.rider.From Japan
Thorpe said he started in 3rd gear with a 4 speed box
Fantastic! If you are still around on CZcams, thanks for posting this. It brought back a lot of memories. I was there on that day, as a very excited 11 year old. Graham Noyce was my hero. The 'course operations' between rounds that the commentator spoke about involved fishing out a bike, which a rider had dropped in the previous race, from the extremely deep mud in the bomb-hole.
Them 87 500kx's were fast , a big handful yes , but led every race , remarkable really ?
if you'r the man in the mirror feeling that way !
May as well have a race with only the top five racers it seems like nobody else in the race really matters.
Proper mudder.
Cuerdon Valley Park, Bamber Bridge. I was there ... 42 yrs ago! 😮
Kids fighting at the start 😂
Wher was mayson wear
Mayson wear should of Carried on
Ahhh back when anyone with a job that wanted to race could afford it..
Hilarious English weather 🤣 🤠🤟🇬🇧💯🙏 i love it
Best time of my life, I was riding kx 125 green meanie, I got best up and coming rider with 3 wins under my belt that year, I’m old now but wow what memories
American Supercross used to race 125 , 250,& 500 classes in the same event it was so cool
As a marshal for Hawkstone park and have been for many years Iv been told the reason they don't hold a gp there anymore is because of A health and safety and B the youth of today apparently don't want to my father in law who has just passed with a long battle with cancer had been riding and marshalling there since he was 15 years old so 59 years I remember him saying that he did. A 12 hour non stop enduro for charity a bloke from Suzuki in Shrewsbury lent him a new Suzuki 500 2stroke but I can't remember the year he said now Hawkstone park was his main love and joy R.I.P TOM EVANS
I was there that day great times
Best circuit in the world
Maravilloso.
super...klase
Thorpey flying, top rider.
Thorpe is truly a British GOAT level rider👍

At first I have to say thank you very very much for this video!!!! second I have to say I must say this: Dave was my idol , those days i still go on a 89 cr 500 r, proudly i met him in ninety three in Holland place called Mill. Extrmely fast Sand course, asked him after the First Run,(HE was going on a Produktion Honda Big gun 500 and finished 1.moto about 7-10 or so....what went wrong ? He welcomed me After knocking the door and say : please step right in ,and have a Seat. Think his Father was still with him and the only Person these days and in the Mobile home as well. His answer was : smets, boonen,Martens and any others are inhuman strong ! He was a real Sports and Gentleman. For me, HE was and is one remarkable modest and no doubt ....coolest and fastest riderr in these Times, the bikes Sound and Act like godzilla live.Totally control ,Gentleman Gigant David Thorpe ,for me the GOAT
Never ever forget we shake hands i'm so proud the time we met
Thank you so much for your arrangement all started in the year seventysix for me on KTM one to five i was fourteen next week I'm Sixty Anna love this sport still
Thank you so much for this video

Kurt and Brian and all the others played with their life because we were so young end strong
David bist du Real King of Motocross on the big gun from Honda. Sportsman and gentlemen
I went to this then raced st this track a few years after this race
👍👍👍👍👍👍
9 minutes "Highlights". takes more than 4 minutes of "commentating"(a Cricket Commentator sounds more excited than the one !) and watching the Starting Gate being loaded. only for the "Highlights" to stop after 2 Laps ! piss-poor !
When it comes to gnarly motocross tracks, the Brits stand alone.
I mainly watch these so that l can see the exotic works bikes that they had back then. Those RC's were insanely beautiful ! This era of motocross was the best when it comes to the development of MX bikes
Looks like a great course!
Bring back the Big Bore 2 Strokes !
Mate had a poster on his wall...Noyce one.... these were the days...
When motocross gave me strong emotions...
the 87 kx was a great bike Jared was super quick that day.
I met Bob Wright at motocross shoe I think I was 11. That year I got my first motocross bike I raced curden park I remember the track being more scary the bomb hole was a hole drop in and climb out. It terrified me as a kid that’s to Bob hi ring me a poster that he signed they was on my bedroom wall for 10 years I’ve rode bikes all my life. Track motocross enduro I’ve tried everything there’s over twenty bikes in my garage. Thanks Bob your a gent. Thorpe was another hero. Wow this brings back memories of long summers and riding till it was dark. I’ve still got my bike I raced has a schoolboy but now it’s immaculate. And I still love it. Motocross is a life style choice. I’ve never looked back. Great people great times. And some of these guys are heroes. And I don’t say that lightly. Great video it’s a shame that track is now a housing estate. I’d give anything to spend one more day on that track.
Noyce! and he's already made up seventeen places. How cool.
$
Who else saw the two people fighting in the crowd at the start lol
I was trying to see if I recognised them because I was a local, I was there that day.
I used to ride in them days I had a 125 and raced . I got the shock of my life when I tried my pals yz 490 .what a beast. Great days riding in the woods no cops
Amazing in 2020 the bikes have hardly changed .
