I have a Muskie Pikerig Pflueger SALTROUT Grandpa'scenterpin reel that kicks ass on a 15 foot Cabelas Predator rod. I can yank a fish to shore or boat without reeling on bass ponds and rivers...and Great Lakes rig.

Try using a rod a with a shorter butt similar to what we use here in SA but we call it a KP will be much better casting and fighting a fish with a shorter butt
