South of Penong are massive deposits of salt and gypsum in Lake McDonnell. Each year around 100.000 tones of salt is harvested from brine pools.

Another piece of West Coast to explore and enjoy, just around the corner from Cactus Beach. You can't camp there but it is perfect place for a picnic because it's nicely sheltered by the cliffs. The weather can change pretty quickly but 1/2 hour later you experience full sunshine again.

Pretty windy.....but nice....the best beach for serious surfing locals don't want to share.

WestCoast - Mexican Hat - another piece of fourwheeldriving high above the cliffs

No need to fly to Dubai to do some sand-dune driving.

Murray River camping - the best spent weekend fishing, swimming, drinking and relaxing.
