The Crane Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and maintenance of critical habitat for the endangered whooping crane, sandhill cranes and other migratory birds along the Platte River in south central Nebraska.
With more than 10,000 acres of vital habitat under its wings, the Crane Trust is a testament to the lasting good that can be achieved when people of different interests and good will come together to act on behalf of one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on the planet-and the wildlife that depend on it to survive. Established in 1978.

Virtual Bison Mini Session

Hello! My name is Chris Deadman Winston, Corpus Christi, Texas. I drove to Kearney by myself to fulfill my #2 on my bucket list (meet Clint Eastwood was #1). After visiting and spending the night with. friends in Dallas, Texas, I arrived in Nebraska on March 21, 2021. The migration was so awesome, so beautiful, so everything and a gazillion times more than I had ever expected. A long time friend also from Corpus Christi met me a few days later. We couldn't get enough of watching and especially listening to these birds. I met people that live there, around there and farther (much farther) from Texas that I'm still in contact with today. Your town is awesome. So friendly, happy to help and everything was reasonable from lodging to meals. I believe the count was 170k? Thank you!!! The cranes are here. HERE!!! I can almost hear them. I photograph them until they depart in March. Oh I'm thrilled right now being able to share this. Happy New Year!!!!! God Bless America and God Bless Sandhill Cranes!!!
