The 30-minute recording limit sucks. I am glad the a7 IV has improved that along with offering a 10-bit codec for SLog3. But, if those things aren't necessary for you, and they aren't for most people, then it can be a great camera.

Great job: clean, direct, presentation without (thankfully) wasting 2-3 minutes with stupid intro package. Excellent presentation, I think I finally "get" color grading and how to put it to use. Thanks!

All of this is irrelevant with today's cameras. If CZcamsrs and beginners would just let the camera take the shot - and leave it alone - their work would be far better.

I truly do not want to hear anymore opinions on the Pyxis camera screen. It’s stupid and anyone who actually uses a cinema camera will agree that it is less than functional and a waste of side real estate which could have allowed for dual balanced xlr’s. The frustration comes from knowing how very close they were to perfection. All would be forgiven if they came out with a dedicated top mounting touch panel monitor via USB-C. Then I would eat every single word.

Thank you for this tutorial bro! Can you make one on how to do a parallax shot that DOESN’T involve walking? I shoot real estate and I’m always seeing those nice orbiting shots of lamps/tabletop decor, and misc. furniture but it’s in a tight space that you couldn’t really walk to make the shot.

Thank you. The problem I see with the "handheld look" is that it's so seldom done well. Mostly, it upstages the actors, it's tiring for the viewer, and it demonstrates the camera person's ego-activated desire to be, very unnecessarily, part of the action. Poor handheld camerawork has ruined entire films and series, most notably (?) the Belgian version of "Professor T" which needs to be Warp Stabilized (read the Amazon 1-star comments). Too often, camera shake is used stupidly in the belief that it will GENERATE excitement, fear, nervousness, a feeling of hectic action, et al., instead of trusting the actors, who nearly always do it better. I've watched handheld scenes that were very well done - like the best running shoes, you forget that the camera is there. In those scenes, it was appropriate and served the viewer - it made the scenes better, not worse as amateurish handheld work does.
