I shook my head so violently after opening up a 2.7 Chrysler for a timing chain replacement and seeing the water pump weep hole exit into essentially the oil pan and then I saw another one with a catastrophic (water pump failure) coolant leak into said oil pan! I saw the coolant contaminated oil and I noped out on any further involvement!

I had 2 of the bikes mentioned. The cb500 vibrated so bad that it destroyed the plastic electrical connections. I have no desire to ever get close to one again. However, the CB750A was a bike I rode from Portland Oregon to North Carolina. I stayed on secondary road for all but 300 miles of the trip. I only had 2 complaints with it. One was the 2 speed tranny, in the crooked mountainous roads in Wyoming I was constantly shifting gears. A 3 speed or a few more horses would have made all the difference in the world. The other complaint was that it was cold blooded and had to be well warmed up to keep it from dying at a stop. With a clutch the cold blooded issue is irrating with no clutch having to put it in neutral at a stop was a real PITA. I rode H1 and H2 bikes and they were not any worse handling than most of the other bikes of the time. A person did have to be careful of the power surge but it WAS NOT at different RPMS. It was pretty predictable and could be easily handled by keeping the bikes in the power band, never lug the engine. But then I grew up with 2 strokes and was used the that quirk. Whoever did this didn't have clue about most of the bikes and probably never rode them.

I remember these cars, crazy excessive land yachts. Huge glitzy bodies covering primitive underpinnings, They were no fun to drive or ride in. Floaty at highway speeds passengers were likely to get motion sickness. Bad brakes, no ABS meant frequent crashes. The proliferation of full size pickup trucks and SUVs reminds me that Americans are volume consumers. It can't be too big.

I had to mute the volume so I could at least enjoy the pictures of some very cool and sought after trucks.

My personal hated car is the English Ford Anglia. The one with the back window that slops in. That is the first car my father got for me, which I had to pay for, without asking me or even taking me along before he bought it. I only drove it once and that is because he hit me several times. I got it on a hill and killed the engine because it was a standard, then it sat on the curb for about 6 months after I got my license. The city would come around and mark the tires and my father would cuss me out so I would move it a couple of feet by pushing it. We finally had it out one night at the dinner table He asked me why I wouldn't drive the car and I told him I would rather be dead than seen in that car. Then my younger brother spoke up and told me that I should drive the car. I looked up and told my father "There you are, keep it for my younger brother." Oh did my younger brothers tune changed. He said the same thing I said when that comment was made. Even to this day if I found one I would buy it to take to the junk yard and have it crushed to put that ugly piece of you know what out of it's misery.

The pictures do not match the commentary. MOST ESPECIALLY with the Anglia segment! I don't know what that custom built car was, but it was NOT a Hudson Jet! You never even showed a single picture of a Jet!! Also, every one of these cars are, now, highly prized, desirable and very valuable. You know not whereof you speak!

That Studebaker starlight is an awesome looking car. It could be hopped up from looking under the hood. Put a small block in it and have a blast with it. The 54 Buick was fine by me also. The waterfall grill was a Buick trademark like the portholes.
