Working Through Street Photography Struggles

How do you deal with your photography struggles? I went out last week to create some street photos and did not have a good time. The weather, and my mood, were cloudy, and I felt like I wasn’t seeing photos like I usually do. A couple of days later, my mood and the weather improved and I went out again for some street photography, with pretty much the same result as the first time. I won’t say ...

Today’s video is (kind of) brought to you by a survey I posted to CZcams and Instagram, asking which lens you would like to see me use in my next street photography video. The options were: Viltrox 23mm f/1.4, Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.4, Fujnon XF 50mm f/1.4 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. And the winner was… the XF 50mm f/2! I'm 56 as of yesterday and have ADHD ... your content is the best I've found, easiest for me to follow while staying focused, without having to rewind too often... You remind me of Kubrick and if you're a fan will understand when I say "shine" as in soulshine, along with your cadence (perhaps a musician?) all on point and I thank you for sharing the content and window ...Having no experience in "photo-graffy" (I luv how older eastern Europeans pronounced it! lol) I'm trying to learn my XT5 bday gift and was mixing up three settings on front with priority modes, must have been the word "manual" , but it's now clicking much better .. How do you have your back button focus/lock set up regarding af modes? much thanks again and cheers! If I join a channel it'll def be this one once I have a better grasp of the basics

      Hi! Thanks so much and so glad you've found the video s helpful. I don't use back button focus, as I can't seem to get the hang of coordinating my thumb and finger. LOL. Best wishes on your adventures with your X-T5!

    I knew it was a Fuji Camera. I didn't know what type of camera you were @ 1st, but when I seen that "Cyan", I knew right away and my answer as the end of the video.

      Thanks for watching! Photos are all edited from RAW, with Classic Chrome starting point in Lightroom Classic, then adding my own edits to taste after that. Cheers!

      @@gordon9177 I’m pretty confident you could get similar edited colors with the D850. If you enjoy the camera and creating photos with it, I think that’s the main thing. Cheers!

    Very good tutorial/demonstration of the Adobe program. I don’t do much in the way of editing photos, I’m still using Luminar 4 for simple adjustments and the first version of Affinity Photo for when I want to “fix” something (remove or clone). Be well.

    The 100-400 is soft after 350mm, and with that 2x just becomes mush. Barely usable with the 1.4, as it is.

    Hi Michael - I live near Bellevue. Bellevue is a nice city and all, but I’m just wondering why you keep going there and doing basically the same photography walk. Doesn’t that get a little boring? Do you ever go to other areas like downtown Seattle and its surrounding neighborhoods to mix things up? (I’m new to your channel, so sorry if you’ve answered this already elsewhere.)

    • @MSladekPhoto
      @MSladekPhoto Před měsícem

      Hi Jay! First, thanks for ordering a digital edition of (re)vision volume 1. I deeply appreciate this support and hope you enjoy the photos. Second - great question! Short version to return to Bellevue is practical - free parking, mostly flat, close(ish) to my home in Sammamish and quite a bit of variety in a small space. I feel like I find a little something new each time I visit, plus with all the new construction, there’s lots of changes every month. On my next visit, I’m planning to ride the new light rail at least to Spring District for a different viewpoint. It’s not for everybody, but works for me 😉 Welcome to the channel and many thanks for this question!
