Great ambience! I’m originally from Shiga but I’ve never been climbed 繖山(Kinugasa-yama). When I was in elementary school I went on a field trip to 安土城跡(Azuchi castle ruin) and so your video brings back fond memories from that time.

I'm thinking of going here when I visit in two weeks. Do I need to do anything in advance to secure tickets? I heard there is night illuminations so I'm wondering if I should go around sunset. I would be coming from Kyoto
You do need a reservation for tickets to the fall light up! You will also need to choose a time slot, which are every thirty minutes or so in the evening. Tickets are 2,000 yen, and this also includes access to the Shiga-in Monseki light up as well. You should be able to reserve here. m.kkday.com/en/product/133373 I hope you enjoy your time in Otsu!

Muhammad Rinaldi sorry for the late response! It depends on what your interests are honestly! We have water sports, temples and shrines, boat cruises, skiing, you name it! Hope your visit is (or was) fantastic!

Muhammad Rinaldi no problem! And there’s plenty of temples for you to see, Miidera Temple, Ishiyamadera Temple, Omi Jingu Shrine, Enryakuji Temple, and more! We haven’t been getting any snow so you should have no trouble biking as long as you don’t mind the chillier weather!
