      I will be finished with the course by the end of the summer. It typically takes Chessable between 1-3 months after everything is turned in and completed (beta test, video editing, and managing the publication schedule) before it will be released to the public.

    If only my opponent would oblige by playing his white squared bishop to F5 , which seems to me ( a mere 2000 on Lichess) like a lousy move , allowing E4 with tempo. Is that really what an engine would recommend ? Actually , what would you have played instead? Thankyou

    • @PalmBeachChess
      @PalmBeachChess Před 3 dny

      I think the point of the video is missed, this is showing how to play against this line for White. The moves for Black at move 10... a6, Rb8, and Bf5 played in the game which is the best scoring of the bunch. White carries a heavy plus in this "main line".

    I *DESPISE* 2.e5! That and knowing nothing but the stonewall are the reasons i quit playing chess for around a decade. I live for open tactical games and hate pawns with a seething passion. e5 forces a positional game and I don't do positional. I play 2...c5 and generally ...Bf5, but not being able to play ...Nf6 is UNBEARABLE. at 1700ish, I still have a terrible seriously losing record against that VILE cowardly pawn push. I've tried to book up on the "sicilian advance" variation, and got nowhere as it's a confusing move order nightmare. I gave up trying to learn theory for it. I'd rather play "reverse king's gambit" variations, but gave up on trying to create a repertoire after the miserable calabrese gambit requires MORE than 700 lines of theory before move number 8! 1.e4 e5 is the ONLY WAY to avoid the e5 cramp.

  • @PatrickRecordon
    @PatrickRecordon Před 27 dny

    I look forward to buy your e4 repertoire. I stopped to play it a long time ago but I was just not convinced by the lines given in books or what I checked at the time (and so many time to prepare against some openings). Now I am stronger and feel ready to be back on it with your guidance.

    I've gone through this game a few times already, and there's 1 move that I simply don't understand from Topalov : 18...Ba8. Maybe this is why my rating isn't so high, but never in a million years I would've even considered avoiding that trade I know grandmasters like their bishops, and maybe this comes from the hindsight of knowing the sacrifice on d4, but that knight on a5 looked so much more dangerous than whatever potential/defensive purpose the bishop had on b7, even if it was the best move i don't think I would've played it. I wonder what your thoughts are about this kind of move?
