''Viennese doctors had their own patients, who were hysterical, which means that they went to doctors and there was nothing wrong with them, the doctor knew it and the patient often knew it, but wouldn't admit it. In order to say, Mrs Jones I don't want to see your face again, I think that you should see to doctor X, called Freud or Jung or somebody else.'' I'm interested in how he said there was nothing wrong with hysterical patients and that they were making it up, because hysteric patients were often women, and it was often believed that the emotional ungovernable excess of women was purely an attention-seeking matter, which this philosopher of the history of psychiatry seems to uncritically endorse. . . I don't think that we can rule out the connection of political and psychological problems in our lives, since politics as the eminently human domain of reasoning, argumentation, logic, feeling, passion and deliberation on how we ought to live our lives properly to attain happiness, is essentially always disturbed and clouded by psychological factors. The psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, changed psychoanalysis to include concepts which are eminently political in a radical way, concepts like transference to a big Other, who represents the social order - or of the imagined gaze of authority, or father figures, and what is an absolute dictator, if not what Freud said - a substitute in society for a type of figure of transference of our most intimate psychological content of what we feel onto a political movement? Is it even possible to understand politics if not as a history - as he himself calls it, a ''crazy history'' of a series of psychological illnesses humanity has had since the dawn of time? What is the hysteria and mass panic that caused the Great War, if not a case, of a deeply psychologically unstable and mentally ill application of politics because of how politics isn't pure of the distortions of the minds of the people that express them? Where is a closer analogue to psychological repression of traumatic memories found than in the social and political oppression of dissident voices that traumatise the official narrative of an unwanted truth it disavows and disassociates itself from through techniques of fantasizing and active imagination? The speaker uses the word ''crazy'' to describe history, and its politics - a word that is an adjective used to describe the state of mental lack of clarity and coherence, of irrational aggressive tendencies, or irrational and ideological movements with no basis in grounded logic or sane reason. How can we rely on politics then if it is so bereft of reason in most of its past - how can we rely upon a ''crazy'' thing to make the world more stable? Is it possible to depend upon a madman to help you and not to harm you? This isn't to detract his main point against psychiatry, which is true of its coercive and political nature - but to ask how can politics if it is insane solve the political crisis of psychiatry if it is that very same phenomena that caused psychiatry's ills, and if there is no sanity and stability in political participation? I agree with him highly about the role of psychiatrists in society - - I disagree with him about the function of hysteria in hysterical women, of his reduction of it to a means of seeking attention and fake female emotional pretences of an affectation.

so... we should not provide with preventive care to a suicidal patient unless they seek for it??? we should just hope that on the last moment they change their mind or fail at it and then agree to be treated otherwise we should just let them try again???? we should just HOPE that they do not hurt anyone on their way to killing themselves??? society removed the ability of people to make decision when we judge that their judgment is impaired. Such as kids, people under the effect of drugs, the ones that are too old (senile and so on) and yes the suicidal. why the suicidal??? because we have done the alternative and it is A DISASTER everywhere it is tried the later experiment on that nightmare is done in Canada where suicide by state is the second cause of death now, in the face of any amount of suffering the state is offering people to kill themselves. Look at all societies were suicide was accepted as just another normal thing and they were a nightmare. We have done his way, and it does not work that is why all functional societies throughout history see suicide as something negative that should not be accepted under normal circumstances.

4:28 This seems to be difficult to justify. How do we determine if a patient is of sound mind in order to enter into some non-coercive form of treatment which could alter his life? In fact, this perhaps includes the question of state-sanctioned suicides as well, of which require certain parameters in order to justify. How can we convince ourselves that a patient is of sound enough mind to want a lobotomy? And how can we argue that his quality of life will improve? Is it dependent on his own subjective experience (self-report) or the testimonial of family/friends?
