Great movie had everything I liked in the movie, detective story, football, 1st generation Monte Carlo.. the pet detective was made with 85 percent humor and 15 percent serious… but it was a great story.. had some deep moments. If the made the film with 85 percent serious dark story and 15 percent humor.. it would have worked too… sort of like a Rockford files episode…
I saw this movie in the 60’s when I was a kid. A friend mentioned it the other day before St. Patrick’s Day, I’ve watched it on CZcams about 20 times since. It’s a very well written and directed movie. The banshee still gives me the willies.

Michael Caine really sells this movie with his performance. Its such a fun take on Charles Dickens classic story. Love to watch it every Christmas. Merry Christmas!
