We are a young family who are passionate about travel and exploring the world. Though we originally came up with the name “This Dinky Life” based on the acronym for Dual Income, No Kids Yet, we also love the play on words and the irony of it all. Merriam-Webster defines “dinky” as “overly or unattractively small,” and this life is anything but. We started this channel when we were without kids, but we now have a little girl.
We’ve started this channel predominantly as a way to document our life and adventures. Along the way, we hope to inspire others to discover the beauty of traveling and provide some useful travel tips as well.

Top Street Food Finds in Asakusa, Tokyo
Welcome back to our day in Asakusa, Tokyo! We attempt to visit the Asahi Beer Hall and Asahi Beer Tower. However, upon arriving and realizing that the view wasn't quite as impressive as we had hoped, we decided to backtrack and head back to explore more of the street food scene in Asakusa.
Our first stop was to try the famous Tokyo Curry Pan, a round curry bun covered in crispy panko breadcrumbs. Alan couldn't resist trying the one loaded with extra cheese. The combination of the savory curry filling and the crispy outer shell was amazing.
Next up, Melissa indulged in some wagyu beef croquettes. These crunchy meatballs were filled with gooey melted cheese and tender wagyu beef, creating the perfect blend of flavors and textures.
To cap off our day of food adventures, we couldn't resist trying a unique sweet treat - sweet potato ice cream with real sweet potato strings. The ice cream had a subtle sweetness from the sweet potato, while the strings added a delightful contrast in texture. It was the perfect way to end our food-filled day in Asakusa.
Overall, our day in Asakusa was a true feast for the senses. From the bold flavors of the street foods to the bustling energy of the markets, we had an unforgettable experience exploring this vibrant neighborhood in Tokyo. Stay tuned for more adventures as we continue to uncover the best of Japan has to offer. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more travel and food content!

Thanks for the great videos from Charmonix. In 2 weeks we will go to the same location. Your videos make me more and more excited. I am an amateur droner and like to make videos with my drone. Can you tell me if and where I can drone there? Thanks in advance
Hi, can you walk to each activity/house within the resort, or did you have to drive over from where you were staying (if you were staying) to get to places like the museum, and pool?
Last time I was in Tokyo, my hotel was near Asakusa, so I remember eating my body weight in those curry buns. Pretty sure my friends and I gave that place a college tuitions worth of money in the 2 weeks we were there lol
Luv frm India ❤
I love watching your Japan vlogs
Amazing videos! We are booked in a master suite on the Zilara side. Can’t wait! We are used to Ziva Cancun which is also amazing.
We’ve heard good things about the Ziva Cancun as well. Enjoy your trip!!
GReat video! I'm planning to go with my mother in October. How much time have you been up there? 20' of cable car..and then? Thanks!! from Argentina!
Unforgettable experience!!...i went with my son yesterday
that's amazing!!
Are there any hotels near that area.
What is that hotel/hut at 3:59.
that's the hut at the parking lot at the top

Tre Cime means Three Top/Summits/Peaks 😉
Thanks for the informative video! I'm heading to Chamonix soon and checking out your channel as my main source of info :)) did you guys get a multiday pass to access all the cable cars and lifts? or did you buy tickets individually?
That's amazing! You will love it! We did get the multi-day unlimited pass, it's worth it
Great video! 🤞
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video, brought back beautiful memories of my visit. Thank you for making these videos and congratulations on your baby girl. ❤
Thank you!
Can you give some rough idea of how long y'all pedaled. I'm going to be going there with my parents and they are concerned about the battery dying. I love to use the example that you were pregnant and had no issues. If you can remember, that would be awesome.
Maybe 5 hours? The battery definitely didn't die lol. You can also kick it down to the setting that uses less battery too if you don't need the assistance.
No audio after 9:43
It's true. Weather people cannot predict the weather anymore.
It is a beautiful hike I did 8 years ago. The sad part is they abuse and neglect their pack horses and beat them, underfeed, underwater them. The Grand Canyon is one of my favorite treasures
Thank you so much for this! We are flying LAX to Asia, Singapore business class with a child around your daughter’s age. He too is squirmy 😅, this was perfect for us! Thank you for making this!
Glad it helped! Were you able to secure the bulkhead seats?
I'm planning to use point to book our flights on Singapore Airlines like you did. That was a great deal that you got. How many months in advance did you book the flights?
We booked almost a year in advance.
Fly business class and take the baby with me❤
Thank you for the great tour.
Hi would you mind if i ask how old was your child? We are planning to travel biz class with our 2,5 years old daughter. So a bit nervous how it’ll work. Thank you!
She was around 18 months at the time we flew :)
Wow , absolutely loved the content of this video! However , I felt the thumbnail could be even more eye-catching. As a professional graphic designer with 2+ years of experience , I took a shot at creating a new one that captures the video's vibe a bit better :)) ❤🥰
Merci 🙏🏻
Will visit Tokyo soon. Thanks for this!!!!
Have fun!
Which flight was this? The biz class is so spacious, was that a A380?
It was a 777. The A380 looks much nicer!
Thank you for sharing, great videos, really informative and fun, we are visiting Annecy and Chamonix next week and will definitely do this 🙂
Thank you for doing this vlog. ❤ Planning to do this excursion when in Paris and so glad to see how the day will go.
THIS is My Favorite Place Really ❤
Thank you for sharing info and the experience. We are planning for this hike in June this year. Do you recommend renting trekking poles in chamonix or bring your own ? We are traveling from US
There are lots of places to rent hiking gear in town, so you can do that. If you already have some trekking poles that can fold down and pack in a checked bag, I would do that!

We’re headed to Japan next month so I’m looking forward to your vlogs. We’re flying into Haneda, and will be staying in the Shinjuku area. Looks like there are Family Mart’s and 7-11’s near our hotel, but I’ve heard about Lawson’s too. 🇯🇵
Have fun!
Great vlog! I would love to visit Japan one day.
You should!
Amazing children center and activity provided to the kids in this beautiful and family oriented hotel. I had passed by few times before got on the gondola lift, always wonder how the hotel look like inside. Thanks for the video. I bet Ava had a good time with the kids in the children center. Hello from Sugar Land, Texas.
Hi neighbor! There were areas of the children's center we didn't even explore because it's restricted to those kids being dropped off. Our daughter did not like being left at Lino Land. She is in daycare now so would probably do much better the next time we go.

We went in December. It was not crowded at all.
Sound is missing in the last section of your video

Yes, we did! We were so spoiled by those bulkhead seats.
haha funny melissa was talking!
LOL. Wish I hadn’t forgotten I was still mic’ed but it is what it is.
I saw LAX to Tokyo at the boarding gate. US$4000 on biz class from LAX to NRT is very cheap on SQ! Pls share how you got that price.
I actually used points! I transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan. It cost 75,000 points + $75.70 CAD per person. The baby only cost us $26 CAD. It was such a good deal!
@@ThisDINKYLife Smart! What a deal!!
Less than 1/3 of the video was shot inside the plane. Title should be "Business class lounge before flying lie-flat with a baby"
Yeah, you're right. Hard to get more footage on the plane with an overtired toddler.
@@ThisDINKYLife I think there's a market for creating videos specifically about handling a young child in flight. Dealing with boredom, crying, tantrums in the lounge, and acclimatizing a child to travel. Lots of great tips on FlyerTalk, but would like to see it visually.
Thank you for sharing this review, my family and I are headed there this weekend and this helped us align on the resort and its offerings. Question for you, most videos I have watched about the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, it never seems more than 50% occupied, was that the case during your visit? I want to know if I will need to really get up early to get good chairs by the pools since we have our kids.
We can't speak to what it's like during the busy season since we went in December, but securing a chair was never a problem in December. Perhaps another reason it never seems fully occupied is because there are 2 separate areas where guests split their time - the pool area and the water park area. Enjoy your trip!
@@ThisDINKYLife Thank you for the insight, this was really helpful and we cannot wait. Again, thanks for sharing your experience.
