The Palestine Festival of Literature

The Palestine Festival of Literature (PalFest) is a cultural initiative committed to the creation of language and ideas for combating colonialism in the 21st century.
The festival was created as an act of cultural solidarity with Palestine by a group of international cultural figures brought together by Founding Chair, Ahdaf Soueif, in 2008. Since then PalFest has run an annual festival in which international authors combine with their Palestinian counterparts for free, public events in cities across Palestine. During the daytimes, visiting authors are taken to sites of historical and political relevance and meet with artists, authors and activists.
Our hope is that the experience of visiting Palestine with PalFest expands authors’ vocabulary and imagination, that they will draw connections between their own work and the various processes of control ongoing in Palestine.

What does solidarity look like in a world overdetermined by borders, boundaries, and walls? How do struggles for freedom exceed borders, and how does the movement for Palestinian liberation connect disparate movements across the globe?

Dear Brother Munther Isaac , Hope you are well. Since there are many around the world don't know that Palestinians are a mix of Muslims, Christians, and Jews , living in harmony side by side. I was wondering if you know people or communities that should go out and protest as Christians , so people around the world may see Christian Palestinians also exist. I think it would be a strong move since there are many that do not sympathize with Muslims, sadly. Bigotry and racism still exists as we all know. I cannot read or listen to this poem without crying. Come November 5, here in the God-forsaken "United States" - a country without a name - I will write-in Rafaat Alareer for President and Aaron Bushnell for Vice President, and Hind Rajab for Senator. At least I have a real living decent politician, Summer Lee, to vote for House Representative.
This is an insane leap and its pathetic that people believe the other side can say anything they want about Jews or Israelis but we cant say anything in return.
I have been following dozens of Palestinians on multiple platforms, I check them every day and I have yet to hear or read statements as hateful as the ones I’ve been hearing from Israelis. I have never seen a Palestinian Telegram account celebrating the death of an Israeli baby or mocking the dead bodies of children for instance, but I stopped counting how many times I came across Israelis doing just that. And even if Palestinians did talk about Israelis the same way Israelis do, it still wouldn’t be comparable anyway because the oppressed hating on their oppressor isn’t the same as the oppressor hating on the oppressed.
