how do I remove the plastic part with the tabs that holds the spool . I don't see any screws or parts to release it. Thanks
There are 2 tabs,one on each side. Squeeze and remove the cover. Then pry up the center bump part. Then remove the spring C clip. Using a screwdriver hold the slot and spin the head off.

So how did you get the string housing off? Looks like tabs holding it on, but if you can give guidance on that part, it would be helpful. Thanks.

How would you replace the whole bump head with a new one? I'm hoping to use the Echo Speed load.
Jeff how do you take the plastic housing with the tabs off I removed a small keeper on the shaft but it doesn't come off.
After removing the spring C clip use a screwdriver in the slot and twist the head off.
Unfortunately the string base is the motor cover and also the vent fan for the motor. I just took mine apart, sighed, and put it back together. I love toro lawn equipment but... this trimmer sucks!
I’m trying so hard to find a whole new pump, head assembly, no success whatsoever
