    As a recent graduate searching for jobs (only being one month searching), i needed to hear these words. I thought I did not have enough skills to enter at this career or the impostor syndrome is hitting me strongest after graduation. At least I will keep what I always was good at, my willingness to learn anything new especially skills or things that I may not be familiar with.

  • @satriamitrautama9752

    thank you for your sacrifice. Now i wonder if there is a space mouse project using led and phototransistor. Most of the project I found still using 4 joystick module to track 6dof

    Can someone explain to me, is this shredder just crap if a croc/baby doll can stop it from moving or would this happen with all these types of shredder?

    • @thoughtbombdesign
      @thoughtbombdesign Před 2 měsíci

      Haha, the croc and baby doll are though and stretchy which makes them pretty hard to shred. Of course there's always a bigger badder shredder out there but it was designed for pinewood derby cars and they won't stand a chance.

    What you needed to get the solder on the springs to melt was a blob of fresh solder on the tip of the iron and more fresh solder fed into the connection as it heated. Contact with molten solder conducts heat into the joint far better than tangential contact with the bare iron. Also, adding fresh solder adds fresh flux and flux is what enables solder to flow.

    I haven’t watched the video yet but I want to get a job in the space industry somewhere. I love rockets and spacecraft. It would be my dream job to work with Blue Origin, SpaceX, or Rocket Lab. The problem is that I have internship experience in HVAC and manager roles. I have done some design and fabrication but it’s not impressive. I do have rocketry experience from a club. I feel like I am experiencing imposter syndrome after being turned down to many applications and after seeing my peers get jobs in NG, L3Harris, Honeywell, and RTX. On a positive note, I still have time left to do work that is great for personal growth. I’ve asked people that have been successful say that they have been through something similar and have been aware of it. They’ve made adjustments to their goals to achieve on a regular basis whether it’s learning Ansys on spare time, or finding ways to apply theory to 3D-printed structures. I hope this is helpful to someone that is feeling the same way.

    • @thoughtbombdesign
      @thoughtbombdesign Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks for sharing! Just a few things to add. I see people get caught up on needing experience in the specific indestry they want to get into. Of course they will need some people that are die hard life long rocket people but a ton of the work gets done by "regular" ME's. I think having the hobby rocketry stuff is huge. If you can transition to anything with more design and build those skills that would make the difference. I always recommend having a personal website showing any and all semi relevant hobbies. That's where you can put all your side quests like a sys and 3d printing. 👍

    Production PCBs are usually coated, which is why you don't get a proper thermal connection right away. Pre-wetting your iron with some solder will help with the heat transfer, higher temperature might be needed because the springs themselves act as a heat sink, and because you don't know what the coating is, you should have some very good ventilation or be wearing a respirator.
