How To Remove Spongy Moth Eggs From Your Trees
Spongy Moths lay their eggs late in the summer. In the spring, hungry caterpillars will emerge and eat your tree's leaves, putting your tree's health at risk. If you have Spongy Moth eggs on your trees, you can remove them to protect your trees.

Frog and Toad Calls of Wisconsin
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 5 měsíci
Wisconsin is home to twelve species of frogs, including the American toad. The frogs that you hear calling are males. They do this to attract females during the mating season. Certain species can only be distinguished by their call. If you'd like to help our hoppers, join one of our surveys: dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/WildlifeHabitat/HelpHerps.html

Don't do this. Birds are getting stuck in this and then are injured in rescue or die
+- margin of error?
Post the salary cowards
Umm water and soap are chemicals.
How can I work for the DNR and do this type of work? Is the state employment website the only way?
Thanks for the question! To clarify, are you seeking employment or interested in volunteering?
Wolves are not "harvested," they are shot and killed. No one eats them and they are not a vegetable. The continued use of this ridiculous euphemism must stop. If you can't call it what it is, don't do it.
Thank you for your feedback. "Harvest" is the legal term in statute which is why we use it as a government agency.
WHAT STATE IS IT IN 🐑❓❓
This part is in Wisconsin.
I like the way they started with the Pledge.
17:41 I’m a freshman and even I know the Milky Way was not discovered in Wisconsin it was discovered in 1610 by a astronomer Galileo based in Pisa,Italy
When I grow up, I wanna be a Wisconsin conservation warden for Marinette county (im 13)
I got a picture of a bear on my land in tomahawk
Hopefully soon
Put her on a script. 😢
I hate those caterpillars so much man😭
Amy..All Solution Specialist. I have amazing plans that really costs nothing to create and start, and the process of starting being documented is part of the reason federal funding will be poured to WNRB because it can be adopted by other states but wont need funding to other states then You all just receive the funding because the documenting (videos ,promotions and broadcasting) and them wanting to test out new plans i have. FYI Foreign Affairs policy people knocked on my door in 2015 and all paid 3 day trip to chicago WEFEC. Over $25k trip. And i had dinner with 10 Iranian billionaire Oil Tycoons who said "Water is the new Oil". Together We can accomplish what you all think is not possible. Amy j. Dummann. I am the best world talent that is way under utilized .
i agree it is an awesome place. i have deer hunted there. sad tho that i dont get to use my drone in cylon. the state obviously does since they used one to shoot large parts of this video.
Any video available that would show what a typical den looks like? Also, some do's and don'ts about approaching dens would be great!
Hi there, we don't have any video of this but we do have some photos if you'd like to reach out to DNRPress@wisconsin.gov, as we can't post them here. Folks should not intentionally approach a bear den for their own safety and to minimize disturbance to the animal. Instead, take a GPS location from a safe distance (~30 yards) and a photo. For landowners, we generally give the following instructions/guidance • Speak quietly, silence phones and try to avoid bringing loud vehicles while within 50 yards of the den to minimize stress on the animals • DO NOT intentionally bring dogs within 50 yards of the den • Quick photo is fine, but do not loiter or gather near the den unnecessarily; particularly for over 5 or 10 minutes (please reach out to a Wisconsin DNR biologist if this is not possible and you have safety concerns; i.e., the bear denned beneath your back porch) • DO NOT attempt to “poke the sleeping bear” or make any physical contact
Does the DNR plan on using goats in other DNR properties?
Potentially. Using animals as habitat management tools is determined on a case-by-case basis based on master and site planning. Using goats may or may not happen in the future depending on individual site goals and management objectives.
This is a big disappointment. Granite Peak’s preferred alternative should have been approved. The ski resort is a major economic driver.
Fred Prehn you are a disgrace! Step down! You all are #Enbridge puppets Deny the permits #ShutDownLine5
There's lots and lots and lots of bears. Remember just several years ago when the Village of Grantsburg was being terrorized by them? I hope so. DNR had to authorized an over the counter tag system to knock down the population so residents could continue normal lives.
43:40 I found out about this webinar, the day after. Maybe next time do a short video, and post it the day prior to reach your audience that is subbed..? Good talk, but was hoping to hear about opportunities of installing new public shooting ranges. Plenty of DNR owned land in LaCrosse county, but it's all posted "no target shooting".
Thank you for your feedback. We did a variety of things to promote this webinar including news releases and social media posts. Our next one is next week (Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.) to talk about who can teach us to hunt.
2:37 Western Wisconsin has zero options for public shooting. Costs $100/year just to shoot at the rod & gun club.
Hello! Well, I hope it works. Dane County is in deep trouble currently with Starkweather Creek being polluted from the Dane County Airport, and the Wisconsin Air National Guard at Truax Field. There seems to be a trial of mitigation of PFAS out there too on the Truax Field property. Is this really a fix, or just propaganda to make Dane County, and the Wisconsin Air National Guard look good to Madison and Dane County residents who drink well water from the Truax Field aquifers that comes via Madison wells? Thanks for your truthful work.
Who determines the level threshold? How much is safe?. None. Now, what is invisiblekovid?...yep&more
There are currently no federal regulations for PFAS. However, some states, including Wisconsin, have created their own regulations for PFAS in drinking water. Those thresholds are set by the Wisconsin State Legislature.
Second one I've watched both have been awesome, thanks
Great to hear! Thanks for letting us know. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
32:09 wish they'd monitor the "ag tags" better. There's a land owner who owns a bunch of land by where I hunt and has big food plots but complains of "winter damage" even though he doesn't realize the deer move north to the older woods after getting pushed so hard in rifle season.
Thank you for your comment. If you believe a violation has been committed, we'd encourage you to report it via our hotline directly - dnr.wi.gov/contact/hotline.html. The DNR Hotline can take information via phone 24 hrs a day x 365 days. Text messages and emails are monitored from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. daily. Thank you for helping to protect Wisconsin’s natural resources and the people who enjoy those resources.
thank you very much
I bet if you had an army of goat the invasive species thing wouldn’t be a problem
First prescribed grazing then give it a blazing that’s a good rhyme
Way to go Scott Pitta!!! Feet to the fire. Accountability.
My family owns two cabins on the Brule. Super blessed to call this my home away from home.
Excellent info, sounds like such an exciting career!
Awesome Place!
Very good information here. Thank you.
Why is the WIDNR tiktok uploading???
We had to take a little break as things get pretty busy around here in the spring. We'll be back, don't worry!
Why isn't the wisconsin dnr tiktok uploading?
This is the Bois Brule in Western Wisconsin , not the Brule in Northcentral Wisconsin.
Why do the hunters on the board always want metrics on predators and how they affect other species but don't want that information on deer? The deer population in Wisconsin is at an all time high at an estimated population of 1.6 million. How many car accidents result from deer collisions each year (around 4k?)? What's the cost on those accidents (since the average cost repair is $4k i assume a total of $16 million per year?)? How many people injured (around 500?)? How many people killed (8?)? What's the agricultural cost each year from deer (over $750k?) ? What kind of impact are the deer having on the forest and themselves being over populated (smaller body size? Increased chances of CWD or other diseases? Loss of primary browse for all species?)? It appears that deer cause more damage, injuries and deaths in 1 year than predators do in 10 years. Perhaps we need to reduce the deer herd a bit. Or perhaps we need more predators to help us control the deer herd. Let's get these statistics out there on the next video.
Why are we still calling this a response plan when there is zero response?
How are those fines from the Fort Atkinson Spill coming along?
I am not sure why the CWD policy is applied in so many counties. Why not hyper focus 4 different strategies in high count CWD counties such as Dane, Iowa, Richland and Sauk to determine best outcomes before applying the same policy across so many low count counties? I wonder how many deer will die due to starvation and cold with such a brutal winter due to not be able to provide feed. Why not add keratinase to feed to actually have the reverse effect on CWD? This enzyme has been scientifically shown to eliminate prions in mad cow and scrapie prions in sheep. A single approach of not feeding and sharp shooting infected deer is one model, why not pilot other strategies in other high CWD counties?
Yes safe water. Humans cremated with lye and added to our water is real safe.
Those two trappers love the marsh more than anyone else, sportsmen and women are the caretakers of our natural habitat
Minnesota has them but our dnr won’t admit it
Frickin amazing.
finally! Thank you for that authentic Wisconsin accent. Tired of seeing these losers!
Im looking to buy land in Wisconsin woods
