You're right - the Patek wears larger, it's broader and the one downside is it has slightly longer lugs. However there is an 'illusion' element too, when I made this video it was straight after I bought the watch and the strap was stiff, so the watch wasn't tight on the wrist but elevated. I also used a macro lens with turned wrist shots, so the watch looks much larger than it does in reality on my wrist (6.5 inch) where it fits better than it looks here! I still love this watch and have since tried on both. I think the Patek has the nicer dial and finish, the Rolex wears smaller and with better lugs...and the newest Platinum 1908 with Guilloche dial in fairness is the best value buy right now in my humble opinion.

Which 1908 ? Since I made this video Rolex released the platinum with the ice blue guilloche dial. Right now the value of that vs the Patek is compelling given they’re the same price. I went for the Patek last year but right now I’d do the same

Thanks for sharing that. The blue dial is the obvious choice but the grey dial is probably the sleeper hit / connoisseurs choice. Great you love it so much.

Hey - I'll share my take and am interested in others' perspectives also. If you love Rose Gold, the Eisenkiesel dial is beautiful, and it's also the less obvious/common choice...you don't see that many of them. They are obtainable (on allocation) at retail if you have a decent relationship with your AD. BUT they are approx $10k more expensive, and just over your 50k budget with fluted bezel. Unfortunately, prices for gold Rolex have literally just increased up to 4% overnight since June 1st. If you are considering value and re-saleability, the olive green is higher-demand, and less niche.....so unless you love the Eisenkiesel way more it's the 'safer' more liquid choice. You probably know this, but all these models are currently selling at / or just under retail used since secondary prices have fallen over the last year+. So you do also have an option to get either immediately at better value without the recent price hike and within your budget if you choose this route. Longer term, there's a wild card option the EIsenkiesel becomes a sleeper hit and after it later gets discontinued has extra rare value for collectors.....but the flip-side again is you'll probably always find a larger demand for that gold / green combo which you can get for less! So my advice on balance would be to go for whatever resonates most for you if you can afford it, the rest isn't that material. Don't know if that helps at all ?!!!

@@notenoughtime7274 hi, i was on the list for a year and half. so you got it very fast. Under a year is unbelievable for any GMT, let alone this one. The nautilus I wear is the two-tone 5980. It is a bit chunkier on the wrist than the 5712 and gives it a much more sporty look. But I still love my GMT as well, don’t get me wrong. But in comparing the two - patek has an amazing fit and finish that is quite unmatched

4 months. But this particular model has now been discontinued. I like the Date-Jist two-tone but generally there is less demand for them so they are relatively easier to get compared with say the blue or green dial in steel

Nope , everyone kept spreading false rumors that all meteorite was discontinued and it was only the Daytonas ! The Superman ☄️ And the WG DD40 Meteorite baguette dial and the platinum DD40 Meteorite Baguette dial are still available also

Hey there. 11 months. I have bought over the last few years other watches I wanted and own through Goldsmiths - Watches of Switzerland group so I do have purchasing history. There is higher demand for some steel Rolex models than precious metals but I don’t think the meteorite dial specifically is one you can get without some purchasing history so the branch puts you forward.
